Izuku decided to break things off with Katsuki. 

Bakugo, internally: There he is, he’s here, my favourite person in the world, the love of my life. god, I just want to stare at him and hold him for the rest of my life.

Endeavor likely cared genuinely for Touya at one point, but that’s exactly why it hurt so much when that love & affection was withdrawn, when he stopped spending time with his son, when he stopped “looking at him,” when he haphazardly pushed Touya away with “go make some friends!” too little too late.

Endeavor is worse than AFO through the fact that he was once better. Once, a long time ago.

All this discourse over whether Endeavor is “not all bad” or “pure evil” is pointless, because at the end of the day, people hurt people. Believing abusers to be some non-human thing is naive & harmful because it blinds us to the truth & the abusers around us in life.

Touya being so harmed by Endeavor’s neglect & psychological abuse that the literal demon lord couldn’t even do anything with it…

The Kacchan bullying Deku moments that sent me:

Taking EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO LAUGH AT DEKU’S FAILURES OR MISFORTUNES

Kacchan is always so concerned with Deku, it feels as if Deku’s the only person in the world to him 😩 (Kacchan is too cute…)

I used to be up in the air about whether this “kuruna… Deku!!” was about Kacchan not wanting to accept help from Deku or if our suspicions were correct in that there’s an underlying thread of concern of Kacchan’s which stems from Deku’s quirkless days: Fear that his osanajimi will get himself killed trying to do the impossible. I thought maybe it was just that Kacchan was not allowing himself to become a victim and have Izuku (“of all people, the person who looks down on me”) Midoriya be his saviour.

However, the more Kacchan’s true feelings about Deku came out into the open, the more I thought that this line of “stay back/don’t come” during his kidnapping, was coming from very deep-seated concern for him. So now I believe Kacchan always had kept his feelings of friendship towards Deku from childhood. But, long ago he tightly locked them away and the reason why he did that I think was to protect himself from the overwhelming worry that knowing Izuku gave him. Until Kamino and DvK2 happened and the feelings came back.

It felt like the way Kacchan saw Deku was starting to slowly reform and that was based on his discovery that the greatest hero All Might… chose him. If All Might could give this person a chance and saw something good in him worthy of this important power, then surely Kacchan also can try find out what he sees in him and that’s why he wanted to fight him, initially… to confirm it for himself.

But we instead discovered when he broke down in front of his former best friend, the overwhelming pressure and suffering he’d been feeling in believing that he ended the career of his lifelong hero. And we also realised that up until that fight, Kacchan had never understood just how much Deku simply adores him in the most purest of ways. From this point, Kacchan noticeably starts to change. Even the light novels comment on the taming down of Kacchan since his fight with Deku. It was as if his emotional angst he had with Deku had become quite cleansed by the revelations. That there never were such things as superiority, antagonism, or looking down on him in the first place.

I think after Deku corrected him on this and showed Kacchan his genuine admiration, combined with the knowledge that Deku has inherited All Might’s legacy and the weight he now carries because of this… these two things are ultimately what brought back “Kacchan” and for the first time and from then on, he stopped running away from his uncomfortable feelings and began looking right at Deku, facing him in earnest. It was almost like a box had been opened. The contents of that box were the traces left of Kacchan’s childish feelings of friendship for Deku and this post is about what I think truly closed that box in the first place.
