WIP: what with the snow over the last few days, I thought I'd share my icicle inspired spinning. I blended some wintery cool coloured wool with blue sparkly Angelina Fibre then used my drop spindle to create the single. When I've spun a bit more I will ply it with a thin blue cotton and knit/crochet up some wintery Christmas decorations, maybe more snowflakes. This week I made some rolags inspired by the colours on the Red Spotted Purple butterfly wing. I've blended the different wool on my hand carders with sparkly Angelina Fibre and bamboo tops, they're now ready to be spun into yarn on my drop spindle. I'm so chuffed with my first completely finished yarn!!! ♥ The snowflake yarn was blended and spun but not plied with another thread so it was very twisty... This time I spun, and plied this beautiful Mermaid Hair roving (bought from @spincityuk) with cotton, so it's more relaxed and perfect to knit/crochet/weave with. Wedding crafts: After nearly two days of solid hand sewing, I've nearly finished embellishing the reverse appliqué table numbers I made on Monday. I've used pastel complementary pairs and made all of them individual in some way, whether it be the composition of the flowers or leaves. As much as I've loved making these and seeing my idea in the flesh, I will be pleased to finish the sixth sign.. Engagement shoot: cutesy of local photographer Tony Lovell. @lester_toby and I had one portrait taken each with the Wet Plate Collodion historic photographic process, our hand produced portraits are printed directly onto aluminum and will be revealed at our wedding (so excited!!). Wedding crafts: I've restarted the bear wedding cake topper, I didn't like the shape of the body and the fur detail.. Now I'm going to make a walking bear, with a goose on it's back, possibly with our cat Dali on there too... I reused the clay from the old bear and I pulled the nose and ears straight off it too.
