Spell for Inner Peace
Ingredients
Lavender — calms the mind
Chamomile — soothes emotions
Salt — grounding and stabilizing
A white or blue candle — peace, clarity
A bowl of water — emotional cleansing
Fresh or dried herbs both work. Tea‑bag herbs are perfectly fine.
Steps
1. Prepare Your Space
Set your bowl of water in front of you. Place the candle beside it and light it. Take a slow breath to settle your energy.
2. Add the Ingredients
Sprinkle a pinch of salt into the water. Add a small amount of lavender and chamomile. As they float, imagine the water becoming calm and bright.
3. Speak Your Intention
Hold your hands over the bowl and say:
“Peace fills my mind. Peace settles my heart. Peace surrounds my spirit.”
Let the words soften the air around you.
4. Cleanse Your Energy
Dip your fingertips into the water and touch your forehead, your chest, and your hands. Imagine the mixture washing away tension, noise, and heaviness.
If you prefer, you can gently anoint your wrists instead.
5. Seal the Spell
Look into the water and say:
“Stillness returns to me.”
Blow out the candle. Pour the water outside or down the drain to release the last of the tension.

2g salt
20g cooking oil
1 teaspoon lemon juice or tartar powder
70g rice flour

Agrimony - Use as a wash or oil to increase the effectiveness of all forms of healing rituals. Allspice - Use in herbal baths for healing. Almond - Carry, wear, or use as incense to invoke healing energies of deities. Angelica - Use in incense or bath spells for healing. Apple - Cut an apple horizontally (across the middle) to expose the seed pentagram. As you eat it, visualize the seeds as five points of, healing: health, vitality, mental clarity, physical strength, and emotional balance. Safely burn it using a candle, allowing the smoke to carry away the illness. Bayberry - Use Bayberry oil to dress green, white, or blue candles. As the candle burns, visualize it clearing away negative, stagnant energy and restoring health. Peppermint - Add dried peppermint leaves to a bath with Epsom or sea salt for spiritual cleansing and physical renewal. Spearmint - Carry for healing. Please be wary that some of these herbs may be toxic to animals or humans if ingested or handled improperly, take adequate precautions if you have children or animals in your household. Also, this is not the only way to utilize these herbs, just the way I would use them in my own practice. This is not a comprehensive list and I welcome others adding to it should they want to!
"To be a practitioner of folk magic is to walk the paths of historian, environmentalist, community advocate, healer, charmer, protector, crafter, and so much more all at once. Folk magic practitioners are keepers of the old ways, working to meet the needs of today’s folk, and paving the way, keeping the fires going, for future generations of folk witches, all through authentic, adaptable practice that feeds the soul, cures what ails you, and makes right what’s wrong."

🐚 Beach magic 🐚
As summer is approaching, I thought I'd post about my witchcraft practice at the beach...
🐚 Use the sea water to cleanse your body and soul. Breathe in deeply, dive in, and spend a few seconds underwater to recite in your head "I'm getting rid of anything that isn't serving me, and release it all to the ocean".
🐚 Draw sigils onto the sand. It's a simple one, but can be quite powerful, especially if you keep on drawing it repeatedly as you sunbathe.
🐚 Whisper a protection spell as you apply suncream. This isn't just about protecting yourself from UV light. This simple act of self-care can ward off much more than that.
🐚 Collect shells for your altar. I think this one is my favourite. I'm always on the lookout for small items with strong significance to decorate my altar. Shells are the perfect items to have in preparation for Midsummer.
🐚 Sand has a strong association to time. Use it for any spells that require you to slow down and be in the present. Depending on where you are, the sand between your hands may be a thousand years old!
🐚 Meditate at sunrise, facing towards the ocean. Repeat wishes and manifestations while breathing in the salt air. If you ask something of the waves, you might just get it.
🐚 Keep ocean water in a jar, and only use it for your most potent spells. Ocean water is associated with vastness, fear, power, life, protection. Use it wisely.
