darkness   spreads   its   mantle   &   the   wind   whispers :   it   is   the   moment   where   all   curiosity   scattered .   misunderstanding   &   doubt   become   absent   thinking   of   this   present   without   a   face   of   the   moon   &   its   halo   that   want   to   lean   out .   a   vagabond   in   the   depth   stays   still   in   place .   ❝  does   it   matter ?  ❞   sea - eyes   hovers   in   the   stranger's   direction ,   kept   some   analysis   in   whispered   words   before   giving   his   answer   or   even   noticing   in   having   a   brute   answer .   ❝  i'm   not   good   at   explaining   things …  but   these   ’ wounds ‘   are   already   healed   &   are   permanent ,   so   nothing   will   happen   with   these   damn   burns .  ❞

     ❛ —permanent? ❜     this could mean one of two things. a wandering ghoul— a ghoul as dying and ragged as he, unable to heal any longer and hoping for shelter in a new world hellbent on their kind’s eradication— or (and this would be hellish), a human. all at once he feels dwarfed; some greater judgement rosy-cheeked and stumbling, smitten with the split between a confident courtesy or justified scepticism; and for now - for the sake of his people - he’s to command the line of equilibrium. charcoal lashes lowering half-mast over argent gaze as he analyses the floor at the other’s feet. a brief moment, onyx of his mausoleum cranking out its reckonings, and he pushes into a decision. a gentle nod, and he outs his inner conflict.

 ❛  H - HAH?!  W - WHERE’S POPS!?  ❜   A  COWARDLY  YELP  SEETHES  THROUGH  WHITENED   teeth and there the terrified boy stands, eyes widened like on of terrified prayers whilst hands shook with every fiber of his being. it took a good minute for him to reciprocate what the  STRANGER  supposedly said, only for eikichi to finally relax himself. his parents worry for him? he couldn’t say…  (  if pops really cared, then he wouldn’t call me a good - for - nothing son …  ).  head shaking, one hand rubbed behind it as a nervous smile stretched.  ❛ ahh,  ahaha,  you wanna   know ‘bout my pops?   w - well… uh…  i mean, he’s THERE,  y'know….  uhh….  wait,  w - why do you even CARE  ?!  ❜

     he at first stares with some blinking anxiety, instinct watching behind his eyes while hovering its trembling hands, unsure of how it most polite to profusely insist a thousand apologies for stirring such blatant discomfort in the other. but something warmer overtakes him; something cloying and slow and explosive— A LAUGH climbs over his ribcage, climbs through him; bubbles deep in his core and rushes up to ram against the back of his teeth until all his form creases up. there is no boom to it, no cackle nor hardness. his shoulders dip and he turns his head, one hand immediately lifting to cover the humble outburst.
