Camelot's Drawings

Ryu Rider was a human sona I made back in middle school when I was getting into Digimon. I also used him as a stand in for any Mon series like Pokemon or Buddyfight later. I was just hanging around DeviantArt around this time. I was working on concepts for The Caverns which was a spanning project inspired by games like Spelunky and Cavestory

I made Cameron shortly after, wanting to have a cool short username on the Blockland Forums. I came up with a sci-fi world called CORE around this time. He was supposed to be Ryu after falling into a coma and waking up

Flint Baron was my first dive into the furry fandom (I was vehemently denying that I was one in favor of labeling myself as a Scalie), I was obsessed with dragons ever since I read Dragonology and pretended to be British because I figured the UK was where all those medieval fantasy stories took place. I had this idea where it was Ryu’s goal to become a dragon himself.

Fang Ferro is Ryu but older, became a sort of rebel before the events that turned him into Cameron. He had like this dragonification disease so I guess he gets what he wanted sorta

Pierre was a bad end version where Ryu doesn’t wake up from his coma and becomes Cameron. I was actually inspired by OFF and a lot of strange RPG maker games and wanted to make something similar. I began world building Return at this point, which was a dreamlike universe

Gyero was made around the same time as Pierre, but I started calling myself a furry for real. He was made along with a fursona for my best friend. Gyero was originally not anthro but a few years later I’d use him primarily as my more fruity internet presence. I rewrote Return as more of a furry setting with mechanics similar to Homestuck. I think around this time I started working on Materria

Macron was created with the same species that my friend @/rubic has. I gave him an update before no longer identifying as him

Tèo was inspired by @/qugre’s Queuenet setting. More of an exercise.

Petey was a very brief time when I was into pirates. (I played as them in Maplestory)

Hedron was an attempt at a mascot to bridge all of my accounts. They were a self-insert for my Materria setting where their goal was to create a perfect companion. They didn’t really fit me since I’m more of a humble person so I stopped using them as a sona

Cameron got a revamp when I had a better idea of what to do for CORE. I eventually stopped identifying as him when I made Camelot, as he represented a more depressing era of my life.

Damsel was made from a Hollow Knight Picrew. I was experimenting with gender identity by making her a girl. She was self-deprecating so I stopped identifying as her

Flint also got a visual update, I wanted him to look cooler and was into Dragalia Lost at the time. Still felt like he wasn’t an ideal design since red isn’t exactly my favorite color

This year was full of revisions, so I took a look at Tèo and tried making her stand on her own. I wanted to mess more with huge characters. She didn’t get a last name until LN was created

Petey got a drastic change that I canonically wrote as her getting “cursed” into her current form. @/cactasorn was a big inspiration since I love the way he drew avians. I haven’t done up with a name for the setting she’s in yet but it was nice having this really feminine design. I still identify as her but I’m thinking of changing her color since Avalon is my premiere pink sona

Camelot!!! I really struck gold here because I am incredibly attached to monitor heads in media. Since I was already known as Cam in many places, I came up with Camelot since I still liked medieval fantasy. (I didn’t have to pretend to be British this time haha) He’s my self-insert for my CORE setting and I love being an effeminate guy since it was cute and popular at the time. I wasn’t really happy with my previous sonas at the time except maybe Gyero. My dream is to one day replace my physical body to look exactly like this…

Avalon!!! Through my attempts at trying to get into a relationship, I started feeling lonely but didn’t want to make an imaginary girlfriend. I had the revelation that I can just be that girl! Avalon exists as a part of me who wants to be a girl but knows she’s too masculine, so I find comfort in retaining some of my original gender. My loneliness has been curbed as I focus more on self-love and friendships instead of relationships

I made Goet when I was feeling frustrated with the monotony of my factory job. Didn’t really feel like me any more so I put it into Gyero’s setting as an npc

Linh Nguyễn was made when I played Changed for the first time. Needless to say it was quite the transformative experience. I got super into Kaiju and started making Biển Biến, a setting similar to Changed. It was during this time I also decided to put Tèo in it and revamped Flint into LN. I wanted to make something inspired by my Vietnamese heritage and I felt like I’m finally satisfied with my dragon sona. This also was a great chance for me to practice drawing humans!

Ampersand!!! I made them for fun when my friends were doodling mascots. I couldn’t think of another Arthurian location that was meaningful so I just took the character between Camelot & Avalon and made them a thing. I was playing XCOM2 during this time and unlocked SPARK units later on when I already made Camm and Ava, so I called it &E. I also wanted to complete the CMY set, even though Ampersand should also be representing K since they only wear monochrome outfits.
