As an “edgy class” player, thank you for your long post. It’s true and you should say it. Many people often dismiss dark things as edgy when said things are indeed dark and you can’t sugarcoat it or hide it. I hope you have a wonderful day. ♡

It’s like there is a stigma against the true dark elements of any fantasy game. Go into any setting where themes of dark, maniacal magics are talked about. You wanted to be a vampiric sorcerer in Elder Scrolls? Prepare for someone to call that ‘edgy’ just for the sake that they are conditioned to do it. Warlocks and Death Knights in Warcraft? Oh ‘edgy’.

if you don’t take the setting seriously when you create, how can you expect to be taken seriously when you come at the public with your fucking pony princess idea. Or that you’re secretly a dragon. Or you are a race of your own design in the setting which does not really support your idea. Are you being creative or being ‘edgy’?

Fives Stages of Grief: Anger

I didn’t think it were possible but I found myself not giving a shit about 8.1. I left the game, I left behind progress I felt was meaningful to me and moved onto other games. But all this Wrath shit I’m posting is getting me so hyped for a class I was really interested to play and explore when it was fresh. And explore it I did. But over time, something happened.

It is probably the one thing that could bring me back to the game and actually RP meaningful story but guess what?

The community fucked it up. Everyone who walks around saying ‘edgy’ in their roleplay like you’re a seventeen year old kid. Everyone who paints characters that wear imposing armor and has layers of depth hidden behind presumed ‘dark’ tendencies.

The community ruins everything about what made Wrath, at the time, cool. With dumb fucking memes and dumb fucking attitudes about what is dark and hokey when dark was the major selling point of that expansion. And people ate it up.

The guild idea I even have wouldn’t work because individuals and guilds have ruined classes like demon hunters, warlocks, and death knights forever. What was once powers beyond the scope of imagination are now considered “edgy” as if it were a bad thing. I’m sorry, if you don’t play your Death Knight like that, go replay Wrath of the Lich King.

Stop being fucking bad with lore. Lore that is not past the expiration date of ass-tier like Mists of Panderia. You know, Wrath lore. When the game was actually good.

I’ve had it with all this bullshit. Play the class right.

But, thanks for showing me that WoW’s RP scene does absolutely suck colossal dick. Wyrmrest Accord and Moon Guard ruins almost half of every idea that could be awesome and provoking, but would rather sperg around like idiots playing house and nobility circles. You are bad at writing, you are bad at ideas, and you are bad at roleplaying in this universe.

Being elitist about lore is so pointless in WoW. It's been retconned and 'no guys this is totally what happened instead' so many times. Not to mention how much crazy stuff happens constantly - Legion and WoD, anyone? Be a catgirl or a vampire or whatever else you want, I don't care anymore. TMI Tuesday - What is something he's always wanted, but can never have? To what extent would he go to obtain it?

Wealth. The broad term itself is something he has struggled to find and manage into what his lifestyle has become these days. But the wealth to move his sister and niece into somewhat of a lavish way of living in the busy city was something he always for them. He would continue to live on as a privateer helming the Iron Hawk but so long as Gwendoline and Anica were able to live without the farm holding them back, he would be happy.If an opportunity came along that would have made that dream a reality, he would not have hesitated to do his best to make it happen under clandestine circumstances.
