While helping a friend of mine clean out their garage I came across an old desktop computer. This thing was ancient in PC standards. It was an "HP Pavilion 7920 P4053A" which I believe was released back in 2001.  When I learned they were to throw it out I slipped it into the back of my truck and took it home. 

After taking it apart, I cleaned out the dust that was caked onto it. The CPU fan wouldn't even move for the amount of dust that had gathered on it. Once I had it all cleaned out, I started to do a little digging around and saw that this thing had a whopping 128MB of RAM, an old 900 MHZ processor and the only drive that was still functioning was the ATA hard drive and the floppy disk drive. 

Not ready to see this computer die, I affectionately named it "Grandma" and ordered some more RAM, maxing it out at 512MB. I'm now able to play Rollercoaster Tycoon and Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II (Painstakingly downloaded from Steam). While these games were playable, they were consistently maxing out my CPU usage. I ordered a new 160 GB hard drive at 7200 RPM vs the current 30 GB hard drive with 5300 RPM. I also ordered an EVGA 512-P1-N402-LR GeForce 6200 video card that I plan on slapping into one of the PCI slots in order to take some pressure off the CPU. All of this connected up to my old Dell CRT monitor makes me feel like a kid again every time I power it on! The saddest part is I've spent more time playing on this than my Xbox One, AND I haven't had nearly as many issues as I've had on the Xbox.

While some may say that this piece of junk isn't worth the money and effort, Isay it still has some miles to go! ... And I'm still too broke to afford my next state of the art gaming PC;)
