Decided to hate watch wuthering heights 2026 and honestly the only person I can be mad at is myself

#more detailed thoughts here I guess #the plot was stripped of anything that gave wuthering heights identity to the point i can't even be upset about the butchering #it doesn't feel like it's even related lol #tbh I was just kinda bored throughout and not paying as close attention as I could've so I guess take my opinion with a grain of salt #but I really don't understand why this had to be an adaptation at all #I'm not even against making changes to the original plot #or having anachronistic set/costume design #but none of it felt intentional to serve the plot or characters at all #rather just to look cool and make for good screen caps to share #of course atp everyone knows about the weird race stuff and I don't really have anything to add on that front #its really sad how they did heathcliffs character still though... bro doesn't have anything going on #yeah again every interesting or complex element from the original is just nuked in favour of 10 minute sex montage I guess who cares even #I could not wait for Cathy's death for with it came the end of the movie #that's mostly my thoughts on it. even as a standalone it's just a really bland boring period romance #wuthering heights #krimsble
