Day 3 of @lovelikeyoursfest (I missed day 2. Shh!) Here's a little confession from my mc, Katrin! **No warnings. Just some smooches!**
Julian was busy sifting through old scrolls and pages on his small dungeon desk. He was flustered and beginning to panic. They were in a dire situation, yes, but Katrin hated to see him lose himself in this hopeless, guilty desperation.
Katrin approached quietly and stood behind him. She suddenly felt awkward, not knowing what to do with her concern. Katrina held her hands hovering an inch away from touching Julian's shoulder blades.
Katrin raised her hands up higher, reaching, and aggressively tousled Julian's hair.
Julian yelped, slamming his hands down on the desk in shock. "K-Katrin, why, h-hello! That was..." Julian regained his composure. His shoulders relaxed and his eyes shifted from surprise to warm affection. "You know, you could just kiss me hello. Not that I don't enjoy your usual, uh, surprise greetings, of course."
Katrin loved his cheeky grin. And his insistence on making sure her quirkiness did not go unappreciated.
"Well, you know how wildly inappropriate I can be in the worst situations" Katrin shrugged, hands up in jest.
"Wildly inappropriate? Oh darling, I wish you would be wildly inappropriate with me"
Julian lightly grasped both of Katrin's wrists. She nodded slightly and smiled, turning a delightful shade of pink, and looked away. He walked her back, pressing her against the cold, stone wall.
Julian released one wrist in order to turn Katrin's face towards his.
His stare was intense and Katrin felt...uncomfortable. But in the best way possible. She wanted everything with Julian, but didn't know how to want it. So, she did the only thing she could.
She reached under his shirt with her free hand, lightly grazing his stomach. Her hand changed direction, circling around to his waist.
Julian was kissing her neck, nibbling here and there, nuzzling in. He held himself close, pressed against her.
Katrin was happy. Beyond happy. She felt greedy. She wanted more. So, she stopped it. She tickled Julian at the waist, knowing it was his weakness. Knowing that he would jerk away.
Julian inadvertently took a step back. "Um, sorry. I overstepped or maybe I misread the situation. I, uh," he paused, looking up "Katrin?"
Tears were quietly trailing down her face and her hand, stuck mid-air, was trembling.
"Darling, I'm sorry. What can I do?" He tenitively reached out, but hesitated.
"Why am I like this?" Katrin shook her head. "Why can't I just be okay with my feelings? Why do I ruin everything?"
"Katrin...oh, Katrin. You're sounding an awful lot like a ridiculous doctor we both know"
"And love..." Katrin sniffles, wiping her face with the back of her hand.
"And love? Really?" Julian was beaming.
"Yes" Katrin admitted, fidgeting nervously, her stomach in knots.
"You seem like you're doing just fine with your feelings. At least to me." He smiled reassuringly and brushed her hair back. "I love you too"
