bumping a closed fist against the other’s upper arm, he lets out a snort. “oh and YOU’RE going to do that to me?” he speaks in a snarky tone soon replaced by playfulness. “what else are you gonna do to me?” a joke, it’s obviously a joke.

she was never the type to start venting out her frustrations to someone as soon as they met– but for whatever peculiar reason, it was different with luke. perhaps it was because their conversation would be non-existent otherwise, but there she went, on and on about a certain guest at the art museum that she works at that pretty much made her day ten times more interesting than it would’ve been. with eyes twinkling, she clasps her hands together and continues with her story, “the guy brought a bouquet over! he decided to give me a bouquet of flowers and then went down on his knees to ask me out.” she pauses momentarily, as if trying to phrase her continuing statement… in the best way possible, even though she knew she was going to end up a laughing stock. “i freaked out and told him i preferred girls…. not that i do, but– i was panicking! he was about to pull a diamond ring and ask for my hand in marriage next if i hadn’t done that!”

he knew where she worked, he had actually been there before and he had liked it. maybe because everything within those walls had been so quiet. its an unwritten rule ( or actually, it’s written on a big sign right as you enter the museum ) to be quiet and not disturb others that is trying to enjoy the art. art can be many things, luke finds art in people. art is found in rae whenever she says anything that gives him another hint to how she works. it truly is a jigsaw puzzle trying to figure someone else out. “he did what!?” he’s almost taken aback by the shock, of course things like these would happen to her, her life seeemed so eventful. and then he immediately feels playful again, one hand over his chest as he leans back and lets out a sigh. “and here i am thinking i’m the only one that had the privilege of getting down on m’knees for you?” but with his words comes a short laugher and he nudges her arm with his elbow. “easy to say he overdid it just a little, huh? still though, he sounds like he was taken right out of a disney movie.”

it really wasn’t planned that they’d get this many dogs- they hadn’t planned to get any dogs, really. calum however, as the dog lover he was, had jumped on the opportunity as soon as it presented itself and what started as one innocent little puppy soon turned into five. it’s not like he could help it, dogs would speak to him whenever he walked past and if anything it was a miracle he only had five. not that his broke ass could handle another one, he was struggling enough as it was. he really needed to get another job. now.

he shifts a little bit and adjusts to the new position. is it really new though?, lately it’s been his everyday position. always on the couch with cal ( and the puppies because really without the puppies they’d have no reason to be like this or? ) just laying around like stupid idiots doing nothing but talking. and touching. but what the hell it’s been a good couple of weeks now with the dogs and everything and even though he knows that calum might be more concerned about money than him he can’t be bothered to stress over it. not like this.
