love how they never gave any explanation for grace’s religious fervor this season they really said “let’s give this bitch a flamethrower and let her speak in tongues” and then no one questioned it

love how luther contributed nothing to the plot. he was just there, being an idiot, caring for his family, falling in love, getting kidnapped, planning a wedding, losing his virginity. like go monkey boy!!! true king shit!!!

The Sparrows argued over who should be number one and always changing their numbers, yet Viktor was never changed to number six, not after Ben’s death or after their timeline with him was gone. I know it’s probably nothing but I do like how it shows that Sparrows see the numbers as who is the best and who should be the leader, while the Umbrellas just see the numbers as what they were given and that they don’t really matter.

I think that’s also because Reginald probably gave the Sparrows their names, as opposed to Grace giving the Umbrellas theirs. So numbers turn to an identity for the Umbrellas, whereas they’re just a ranking/the role they play on the team for the Sparrows.

my favourite consistent plot point in the umbrella academy is when a sibling is lost and confused about what to do next, so out of hopelessness decide to have a drink with their out of control, junkie, alcoholic brother, who just fucked over death itself, only for said brother to go on a wild rant about some story in his past, casually telling them the exact information they need to know without batting an eyelash
