I’m trying to raise money to start anti-depressants after being excepted to have therapy sessions temporarily paid for by Vancouver Black Therapy and Advocacy Fund 😚

I haven’t been able to start taking my medications due to my paranoia and anxiety, I require the supervision of a professional I’d really appreciate it if anyone could share this post and donate I wanted to start therapy for so long I’ve needed to start therapy for so long I just wanna make sure I can get the most everything out of this once in a lifetime opportunity!!

Here’s a (very) short rundown video for you:

In Six Nations territory, it was the Anglican Church who operated the Mohawk Institute Residential School from 1831-1970. On June 12, a suspected arson significantly damaged an Anglican church on the territory. While no one has publicly claimed the action, many community members assumed that the attack was connected the current scrutiny of churches and their role in residential schools.

Foxes in the UK have no closed season, meaning they can be killed year round and at any age. A lot of farmers/gamekeepers/pest controllers deliberately target foxes during the breeding season. I see so many pictures on social media of nursing vixens that have been shot. The more ethical ones will at least try to find the den and deal with the cubs too, but many simply don’t care and leave them to starve. As long as they die it doesn’t matter how. There’s a lot of outright hatred for foxes in this country and sadly there is a section of the hunting/shooting community that enjoy seeing foxes suffer. I’ve seen some pretty horrific things on pro-hunting forums that still upsets me.

And I get that the breeding season for foxes also coincides with when sheep have their lambs, so sometimes it is necessary to cull problem foxes. But many farmers just shoot every fox they see regardless of whether they’re causing any problems or not. The government’s own figures suggest that less than 0.5% of lamb losses are the result of foxes, and most of those are in more remote areas (like the Scottish Highlands) where natural prey is scarce. Poor husbandry and poor health of the ewes are the main cause of lamb mortality, plus things like bad weather, accidents and dog attacks. Most lambs taken by foxes were scavenged already dead, but it’s easier to blame a fox than sort out your own bad husbandry.

There are also times when foxes may need to be culled to protect rare species. Ground nesting birds are at particular risk and I know some nature reserves in the UK cull foxes during the breeding season if they’re causing problems. But for the most part there’s really no need to be killing foxes in large numbers all year round. Their population isn’t going to explode out of control if they have a closed season for a couple of months while rearing their cubs. If anything, general culling can cause fox numbers to increase by breaking up family groups and encouraging vixens to produce larger litters. When you kill one fox another just moves in to take it’s place. On the other end of the scale some areas have such heavy fox control that they’ve almost been wiped out in parts of the country. Rural fox populations are down 42% over the past 20 years because so many landowners have zero tolerance for them. 

hi, my name is yona. it's pride month, indigenous history month, and romani history month, and i am a trans masc two-spirit native roma and i live with my abusers. my last post lost traction, but i recently had a very expensive veterinary emergency. my dog, who had just been diagnosed with diabetes, was suffering from ketoacidosis early on in the month of may, then later had a relapse after his initial stay in the hospital. his life saving treatment cost me around $2600+. he has made a full recovery, but i had to dip into my moving fund. my dad says he's going to pay me back, but i don't know when this will be because my family is struggling financially and i need to leave ASAP for my own health. it could be a year or two before i see that money and i'm trying to move out this month. my parents in the past were very physically abusive and they continue to be emotionally/mentally abusive towards me. they don't respect my privacy, they gaslight me, they take money from me, and they're transphobic. i don't want to be stuck in this endless cycle of trauma and repression any longer. i'll be leaving once my roommates and i lock down a house and i'm taking my dog with me, but we need this money to help pay for the cost of moving as well as any other necessary expenses. if you can afford it, anything helps, but please don't donate if you don't have the money to spare! reblogs are very appreciated 💙
