To clarify why I posted this: I saw a post that said that “I don’t worship gods, I’m a witch, and worship is a Christian concept” and this is an absolutely absurd take. You don’t have to worship gods, but to say that it’s Christian to worship is ridiculous. Things like worship, prayer, reverence of deity, messianic beliefs, prophets, saint veneration, and even “Hell” and the devil aren’t exclusive to Christianity or even Abrahamic faith. And for you to say that they are and dismiss them as concepts because you have (justified) beef with Christianity is unfair and inappropriate. Not to mention that lots of witches do worship, and that, historically, most of the evidence we have of actual witches is that of Christian witches or witches who have some tie with Christian theology. To accept this and move on and focus on your own growth or how you can learn from that history is going to benefit you in the long run. I grew up gay and gender non-conforming in the Christian church and it sucked, but just accepting these truths opened a lot of doors for me and helped me grow a lot on my spiritual and witchcraft journey.
