The Stillness was not amused. It flexed its power and enforced silence upon all of time and space. The souls refused to be silenced, and they strained against their constraints, furious that they could no longer scream their defiance...

The Sect representative turned to the artificers with a questioning look on his avian face. “I take it this means our plans for infinite mana generation have failed?”
The lead researcher shook his bovine head in disagreement. “No, we were successful on that front. Unfortunately, it seems that instead of being able to harness it. It is instead sending a never before seen species with completely unknown capabilities to our realm with the knowledge that something from here just tried to enslave and, failing that, to destroy it.
