“I dropped out of senbatsu.” On June 17th, 2017, Mukaichi Mion had to say these words.

With a goal of becoming part of the kami-7, Mion was determined to reach for the stars. A meteoric rise from 44th to 13th in 2016 suggested it could become a reality. But much less than crossing the barrier into kami-7, she was unable to overcome the wall to reach senbatsu.  

We as fans were unable to overcome the wall.

It was a frustrating and painful moment for her, but Mion wants us to overcome the pain together. She doesn’t want to see everyone’s sad expressions.

Mion won’t run away, Mion won’t give up on her dreams, so let’s not either and make the 2018 general election a better story. Her goal is once again kami-7. Together, we can help her reach it.

She wants to meet her precious fans, who always cheer and support her, with a sincere smile this year.

Seichan once said, “Mion always thinks about AKB48, always puts AKB ahead of herself.” It’s undeniably true. Mion wants to help pull AKB; she wants to revive AKB into another golden era; she wants to see as many AKB names as possible in senbatsu. Let’s make sure her name is one of them.  

As a message to Mion during LALALA message, Miyabi said, “Mion’s smile gives me energy.” Her smile brings energy every day to a countless number of people.

On her 20th birthday, Mion said she wants to spend every day with a smile. Through this campaign, let’s take a small step to lift her burden, give her strength, and make her words a reality.

How will we be purchasing and entering votes?

The voting tickets will be purchased from Yahoo Auctions through a proxy shipping service that allows us to pay using our own currency (this is why we prefer donations in Canadian Dollars). We plan on buying the tickets in bulk without the CDs to lessen costs.

If, for example, we raise enough money for 48 votes but the auction listing is for 50 votes, we will pay the difference ourselves in order to purchase the 50 votes. The shipping and service fees will also be paid by us.

Once we receive the voting tickets, we’ll enter the codes ourselves. That way, we can guarantee the votes are used only for Mion. It also saves time because emailing codes to each fan who donates would be time consuming.

We will not be making any profit from this fundraiser.

Megu was promoted one year after me, at that time, I didn’t how to treat you. We even used formal language at first and that made me think that there is a wall between us. So I thought that I should do something. I’m glad that we can be close now. I’m younger than you and probably, I’m not a reliable person. But please, consult to me anytime.

Megu -> Manami:

Back then you said, “Even though our debut time are different, we are still the same generation, don’t use formal language with me, ok?” That made me really happy. I love you.

Megu -> Komi:

I once thought that you are scary. But now, I don’t think that you are scary anymore and I can talk with you properly. Even though sometimes our topic doesn’t match, but I think that is what make us close. I want to be closer with you so that we can talk about AKB more.

Komi -> Mion:

Mion-chan, since I entered AKB, probably, not probably, Mion must be the one that I spent most of my time with.  You know everything about me and I know everything about you. Maybe there are times I talk too much though.

They always say that Mion is an honor student. But you actually not one, right? Even though you are not an honor student, you are a really nice person who cares about others. I think among AKB members, Mion is the one that worries the most. You worry about yourself, about AKB,

you also think about everyone. You always put everyone else before you, and I think that’s why people call you the honor student. At your solo concert, you said that you want to graduate from being an honor student. That makes me really happy, because finally, you started to care about yourself.

So Miion’s solo concert was released on DVD a few days ago and I just finished watching it. I want to start with saying WOW. Miion seriously impressed me. I’ve liked Miion for quite a while now but I think I’ve just fallen in love with her. I know she’s been pushed as a new gen ace but honestly I’ve never fully seen her sparkle until I just watched this concert, she was amazing. I took a few screenshots whilst I was watching to include in this post so enjoy the cuteness she radiates. 

So the setlist was pretty varied with a good variety of AKB’s cute idol songs to the more cool dance unit songs to the classic AKB hits. One of my favourites bits of the concert is when Miion does a few unit songs and they play the videos of the original senpais side-by-side to her.

Also I loved Miion playing Tsubasa wa Iranai on a guitar acoustically, she sounded beautiful. I feel like throughout this concert I got to truly appreciate her voice. Another thing is all her costumes were so so cute

Miion was so super smiley the whole way through you could tell she was enjoying it so much and having so much fun which made me really happy.

She finished the concert with Heavy Rotation of course.

170618  I thought about it overnight.. First of all, I’m truly thankful for everyone who supported me. I’m sorry everyone’s feelings were futile, I don’t know how else to say it. It’s frustrating. Although I’m facing forward, I’m really frustrated. “I dropped out of senbatsu” I’m burdened by those words. I tried to convince myself it’s not going to be like that.  But.. that’s how it turned out. During handshake meetings, I felt everyone’s passion more than last year and the number of people who came to see me also increased. But rather than my rank dropping, it was more painful and hard to believe that my votes decreased. It was my own fault that I couldn’t become an idol who is able to increase the enthusiasm of every single one of my fans. I wonder how I should continue my efforts I wonder what I should change I’ve been thinking about that since yesterday. Since everyone is so nice, I keep being told that I am fine just the way I am. But all my efforts up until now haven’t been enough. From now on, I will not continue to be influenced. I have to earnestly find my own way to live life. In the upcoming year, I think many of you will most likely have a lot of bitter thoughts.  I’m really sorry about that.   But I hope we overcome the pain together.  I don’t want you to assume that I’ll be okay. So please support me. And next year,  I still absolutely want to achieve my dream that I couldn’t fulfill this year. I don’t want to feel as if I wasted any time, so I’d like to turn my frustrations into a smile. Please continue to support me from here on out.

170624 I honestly didn’t know what kind of expression I should’ve had when I met with everyone today. It might’ve been the first time since I joined AKB that I was nervous for a handshake meeting. I don’t even know why, lol But when I went out to my lane and saw everyone’s expressions, I immediately realized, “Ah, they feel the same way.” Though all of you had much more apologetic looks than I did.. Maybe it was because I said on Showroom that apologizing to me was banned but I was glad not everyone said the words “I’m sorry” to me. (Of course, there were some people who said it and I’m glad that they were able to convey their feelings! But if I heard those words from everyone, it would’ve lost its meaning.) I also intended to stop saying sorry. Although the truth is I do want to apologize and I feel full of regret.. And today, plenty of fans told me, “You haven’t been this negative until now.” I wonder where I went wrong, what I should do now and I have many worries at the moment. But then I was extremely happy after hearing this remark, “so far, there’s been nothing wrong with your efforts and you properly convey yourself to everyone.”   It’s true. Regardless of the outcome, my efforts up until this point and the time I’ve walked together with everyone didn’t change.  Therefore, I will stop apologizing. Everyone told me, “thank you for the hard word,” “it was frustrating, wasn’t it?” or “there’s always next year” instead of sorry or even congrats, it’s nice that my fans understand me and share the same feelings. 170625 #1 Ever since the sousenkyo ended, I thought a lot about what I should do from now on, then I spoke with many people these past 2 days [at the handshake meetings]. I met with some fans and there are some I have yet to meet. Some people want me to change Other people don’t want me to change Since I understand both sides, it’s really difficult, there’s inconsistencies in my mind. Well There are those who probably think, “I came to like Miion during this or that time.” You’ve liked me for a long time and wish for me to remain the same.. Those are the kinds of opinions I’m concerned about. But of course, as an idol and a human being, I want to accept change, growth and challenges.   For example, there might be some who oppose aspects of my job, others may think that I’ve become a different person from my early days. And there are those who don’t know what the correct solution is at this time. I don’t know myself either so I’ll recklessly go about it in my own way. But I hope you watch over me during my challenges. And I hope you grow to like the sides of me that do change. I wonder if I’m just being selfish by saying that.. ? However. ! My love for this group My gratitude towards all my fans My dreams that I wish to fulfill within AKB Those are my principals that I will hold onto forever.
