OOC: @zoro-r and @veniria we can keep the thread going here!
"There could've been another one." Misty responded as she kept digging. Probably should have looked harder. Too late now, she doomed herself to using the small shovel.
Misty pondered what Zoro said, momentarily flinching at the idea but shaking her head. "True, but maybe he was out here a while, but not in a dead way."
It took her a while before she was finished. Or not too long, but it wouldn't have been as long if she had a better shovel.
"Maybe he was", was all he said in return before he put the skeleton there. He wondered how the spirit of the skeleton would feel after watching two strangers burying his body, as someone should've done a long time ago.
Misty started to shovel the dirt back in. She then realized she could probably just use her hands to shove it back in. Faster that way. Maybe a little less respectful though? She was trying to be careful as she talked to Zoro while doing the process. "Hope he's not mad at being moved."
"Maybe he is", he told her. "But maybe he's grateful for finally getting buried."
He could hear some of the girls in the house talking about a spirit board. At least that's what he could understand, because what did ouija even mean?
"They think his spirit is still in the house", he smiled for a bit, trying not to laugh. The notion was quite funny.
"Do you want to join them?"
"The spirits..?" Misty questioned at first. She then processed what Zoro said and thought about it more. Oh, the other girls. "Yeah, let's go." She nodded as she dusted her hands off in the air a bit. If she could make her clothes last a little in the wilderness, that would be good, so she was avoiding rubbing her hands on herself for now.
"Sure", he said. When he got into the cabin, he could hear the voices of the other girls upstairs, so he went there.
They had an x mark on their face, a weird tool and a spirit board. It looked like some sort of a ritual, which was. .. Peculiar.
Misty moves to sit next to Mari and motioned for Zoro to sit with her. She listened as the girls talked about inviting in a French spirit. Why specifically French? Regardless, Shauna was blindfolded and seemingly the one this spirit would communicate through with the swinging pendulum thing.
Misty waited for it to be her turn, making sure not to look at Lottie as she addressed the "spirit" or rather Shauna. "Does my crush like me back..?"
When the sign essentially made the motion of yes, she couldn't help but grin.
He watched the weird ritual. That bored him and weirded him out at the same time. This was the type of thing that the straw hats did when they were really bored and had nothing to do, except they didn't speak in a weird language, unlike those girls and the spirit.
He gave Misty a little smile, after Misty got her answer about her crush. But it disappeared as quickly as it came during the next question.
Misty also frowned at Javi's question. She really did hope they wouldn't die here. Stay a little longer than expected? Sure if it meant she could show off her skills. But that didn't mean she wanted to live here forever.
She looked at Zoro after Javi's question and mouthed out "I hope not."

🥔: @veniria @kittycatquigley continue here!
Earth? This name was cool and short, just as he liked. "Ok", he said, distancing himself from the lake after some of the girls splashed him. He knew they didn't mean to do it and he didn't mind the water, knowing his clothes would become dry later.
Lottie was one of the girls whose first instinct was to dive into the water—the smile plastered on her face was probably visible on the shore as she finally cooled off. Surprisingly, she didn’t seem to care about the fact that it was a lake in the middle of nowhere, and was probably contaminated. Either that, or she didn’t notice.
Her shirt was abandoned on the shore as she floated around. The brunette’s head turned to the poodle haired girl and the green haired man, her brows knitted together slightly, "Are you dorks not coming in? It’s nice in here."
"Yeah no thanks", he answered. He could swim, but he preferred to do so when it was necessary. It wasn't his favorite activity. He sat on the rocks, already regretting he didn't bring a bottle of sake, despite his face being blank. But he couldn't know he'd end up here.
"Maybe in a second?" Misty said to Lottie before sitting down on the ground next to the rock Zoro was on. She did start to unbutton her shirt though, but she had a white tank top underneath. "I'm not even sure where we are to the point it might as well be a different world."
He turned away when Misty started unbuttoning her shirt. He thought about what she said later. How could she be so sure?
"How do you know?", he asked, looking at the mountains just like he did earlier.
"Well, I know it's not literally another world." For the team, at least. "Just, like, it's so different I'm not sure where we are at all." She saw coach Ben and looked at zoro. "He can't swim. Should we bring water to him or something maybe?"
So that was what she meant? It made sense, somehow.
"Okay", he said, before she mention the man with the amputated leg. They should ask him first. Maybe he didn't like swimming.
"Let's ask him first", he answered.
Misty nodded and was grabbing a water bottle from her bag. She was going to squirt Ben with some, but he gave her a look that was clearly... not amused. Can't entirely blame him, he just lost a leg, but still. Part of her worried Zoro was going to soon look at her like that. Like she was a problem, like how all the other girls had looked at her before the crash.
"I don't think he wants any." She tried to say in a joking tone to Zoro before turning to look at Lottie in the water.
He looked at their interaction. He was amused, but along with that, his eyes showed the embarrassment and sympathy he felt for the amputated man.
"Ok", he said, as he stared at an empty corner at the pond, wondering how long they'd stay there.
In the edges of his peripheral view, he saw Misty looking at the rude girl.
"You like her?", he whispered.
Misty looked at Zoro and shook her head nervously. "Oh, no, I-" she started to say. She couldn't be focused on a crush when they all just crashed! But Lottie was really pretty, even if confusing sometimes on where they stood... okay, very confusing. "She's just a.. friend."
After a few more minutes of swimming, paddling and whatnot, Lottie’s head turned as her gaze drifted elsewhere. As she glanced at the mountain, she squinted when she saw a light flash. Her brows knitted together in confusion. What could that have possibly been?
All of a sudden, she raised herself up and lifted her arm to point at the forest-y mountain, "There’s something up there."
Zoro decided not to pry about it. He knew that Misty was lying, but that was none of his business. He looked at the mountain that was pointed by the rude girl and realized she was right.
Misty looked from the cabin back to Zoro, but saw he had already started moving. She quickly scurried up closer to him. "Maybe someone lives there." She said. Part of her felt weird about that though. Sure, it's going to be great to be rescued...
But then what happens to Misty? She's been so useful so far, and that goes away once they're rescued.
"We won't know that until we see someone there. In order to do that, we should go there. We can't stay by the lake all day", he said. Then he realized he went the wrong way. His crew mates would scold him if they were here as well, so he started walking the right way.
"True.." Misty looked back to see if Lottie was going to follow her and Zoro. It seemed like the other girls were starting to dry off a bit. Jackie seemed annoyed. She had seemed pretty.. unhappy to be here. They all were though! Zoro probably didn't like it here either.
"What are you going to do when you make it back to your world?" Misty asked Zoro. To be quite honest, she wasn't sure what she'd do back in New Jersey outside of go back to being nothing.
"Probably go to shower. Unless that cabin has a shower", he answered without thinking. He didn't know how long he'd stay and he knew he'd get bothered if there wasn't a shower in that cabin.
Go back to being useless. Obviously. Once they were finally back, Misty would be ignored once again. The idea of that ate her up inside. She's not even sure Lottie would pay much attention to her. Whatever they had felt so on and off.
"Nap with my cat." She lied as she walked, leaves crunching underneath her shoes.
He could sense that she was lying, but he didn't bother to ask her about it. It probably didn't have anything to do with him anyway. They were slowly nearing the cabin. They were halfway through.
"That sounds nice. What's its name?"
"He's named Aristotle." Misty found philosophers interesting. She really enjoyed Plato, but she wanted to save that name for when she got a bird. Maybe not for a while though, she didnt want to stress out a bird by having a cat in the house.
"Do you have any pets?"
🥔: spoiler alert-
" That name suits for a human more than an animal, but you do you", he said. Aristotle sounded like a name of a famous poet to him. He didn't know if it was true, though.
"Plenty of animals have human names!" Misty defended as she almost tripped over a rock. She turned back to see if Lottie would have seen for a moment before continuing as Zoro answered her question.
The cabin was still a bit away. Her legs were a little sore from all the walking they had to do. Better that then how some people ended up in the crash though, in her opinion. "I hope whoever's there isn't crazy."
"Alright", he said. That was a weird phenomenon, in his opinion. It made animals be more...human. But each to their own.
Once again, Misty started talking about the possibility of another person. Hell, they didn't even know if there was anyone to begin with.
"That is if we even find another person."
"Maybe we'll find someone that's not alive. Not like a ghost or anything, but a corpse." Misty was kind of nervous about that. It's not like she hadn't seen one before in medical books, but seeing hope go away of rescue for a while like that felt both good and bad. Just a little more time to feel useful...
A corpse? Why would there be a corpse? Although, there was no civilization near this wilderness, so it could be possible.
"Sounds likely", he said. They were getting closer to the cabin. A few girls even stepped inside it. It looked very old. He had a sudden thought about how easy it'd be to destroy it, but he pushed the thought away.
Misty listened as Van looked through a few of the magazines, and then as Travis and Van talked for a few moments. Sometimes she wished she actually had people to confide in like that. She walked in properly but stayed to the side with Zoro. "Do you have people waiting for you back in your world?" She asked.
He ignored the teens who talked about...certain magazines. He had nothing to do with those. He wondered if the crew missed him. If they were... Looking for him. He hoped they were fine.
"Yeah. I do", he answered. "Is there anyone waiting for you, besides the parrot?"
"My parents." Well, they were always busy. But still. They probably were worried about Misty. Maybe even taking time off of work for once to figure out what happened to her. She wasn't sure how old Zoro was. He seemed older, though not by much. "Family. Maybe some girls from the training class I took? If those count as friends."
🥔: opla spoiler alert
"Nice", he said. Family was such a weird thing to talk about for him as an orphan. Hell, he didn't even remember being with his other relatives. All he remembered from his childhood was training, fighting against Kuina, their promise, her death and more training. He was overdoing it after her death, though.
As for the other girls, he didn't know how to answer. Did they think the same about her?
"Do they think the same about you?"
"Yes." Misty said far too fast. Sure, they weren't nearly as bad as Becky or the other girls from school, but they never really seemed to want to talk to her. Mari did on occasion, same with Lottie. But other than that, not really? Misty was friendly to them, but up until now she felt like they saw her as a burden. Even now, she saw them look at her weird and she was literally the one who helped save them!
"No." She then responded more quietly.
That was nice. But the response was too fast, which means that probably was one sided. He nodded his head when she said no. He felt bad for her. She seemed to be a good person. Her intentions were good. But maybe there was a reason for them to not befriend her. He wondered what the reason was.
"Then they're not your friends", he said. "Do you want to see what's in here?"
Misty knew he was right. But maybe with a little more time out here they would learn to appreciate her. Maybe. "Sure." Misty nodding, deciding to properly explore with Zoro, who could be her first actual friend here
He walked around the empty space-technically, it wasn't empty, since the girls arrived and started preparing their beds. But other than that, the dusty floor was empty. He went upstairs, and to say he was intrigued was an understatement.
He wondered who used to live there and how the person became a skeleton.
After a few moments of looking at canned foods, Misty followed Zoro up to what was possibly an attic. Maybe just the second floor in general? Regardless, Misty had not expected to see a whole skeleton. It wasn't that scary in the sense that she had seen other things like it before.
However, she still jumped slightly. That could be their future if they don't get help. She looked over at Zoro. "Should we.. move it?" Would that be disrespectful to the dead?
"I guess you were right...", he said. They could move it. He didn't know where they'd put it, though. In the woods? In the lake? Or in another place?
"Sure. Where would it be?"
Misty thought about it for a moment. "We could bury him right outside? It doesn't feel right taking him too far out. But would it be wrong to move it at all?" She fidgeted with her glasses a little.
It's not like she had never seen a skeleton. It just felt odd considering the circumstances. How often did you run into one that wasn't from a science lab? How often has Zoro even run into one?
"We could. Unless you believe in spirits", he said. He was familiar with this kind of people. They valued the spirits of the dead, thinking those spirits would haunt others, or speak to them in their own way. He wasn't one of those people.
"Not particularly." Misty moved closer to the skeleton and touched it a little. With both hands, she started to slightly lift it up. Not that light, but certainly not heavy. She started to cough as dust moved along with the skeleton. Maybe she should've asked Zoro to help first.
"I can carry it, if you want to start digging outside."
"I think it'd be better if you dig instead. This skeleton doesn't look light", he said. He did carry skeletons during his time as a pirate hunter when it was necessary. Plus Misty was coughing so he thought it'd be better for him to carry the skeleton.
Misty nodded as they headed out. She sat down a little way from the cabin and started to dig with her hands at first before remembering inside she saw some sort of shovel. It was a small one, but would have to do. She almost bumped into Shauna while retrieving it before coming back outside with Zoro.
Some of the girls still looked a little worried over the skeleton. Understandable! Definitely didn't seem like a good sign. But that could still be a good thing.
"Someone had to be living out here for a while, so maybe we can survive pretty long." Misty told Zoro, trying to sound cheery as she dug the hole. Maybe there was also somewhere to go, maybe the person would run errands and civilization was nearby.
