Shinji Nojima has worked on many projects before WEP, and one of them was a live-action with sapphic undertones. As for the transphobia. He is the writer of a manga called Sunu Sumu Muriku No Koibito. And it is… Not good. I do want to preface that I am a TME person, however it is clear that this all around bad. The manga is about a young trans girl. During the entirety of the story she goes through intense abuse, is consistently misgendered… You get the idea. That abuse is physical, emotional and sexual. Do not read this manga. It is incredibly triggering, it’s not worth it, I could barely skim through some of the pages without feeling sick to my stomach.

Because of that I will only include one single screenshot. This is after this character’s surgery, and is pretty much right toward the end of her arc.

From what I understood, she dies shortly after. This is written by a cis man.
