🖤"Shuffle The Deck"♣️
"It's been 3 entire months since we saved the fellow people indebted to The Devil, beat the devil, freed everyone's souls. We just had our 19th birthday in September."
"It was June when we decided to take Devil for a ride. It felt so uplifting when we freed all the debtors on the isles! They threw us a giant party while we were hailed "Heroes of The Isles!"
"We were fine for a while until..."
"Until..."
"Until The Shuffling."
Due to the mythical magical shenanigans of Inkwell Isles, the Cupbros end up. Not quite swapped but very mixed up like margaritas. The situation creates a delicious bit of cosmic irony. Cuphead finally gets the responsibility he never wanted, and Mugman finally gets the crashouts he secretly would've loved. Neither gets exactly what they expected. That's what makes it feel less like a swap and more like a reshuffling of the deck of cards that is the C-Bros.
💙 Shuffle The Deck AU! This was just an idea that existed inside my head and refused to stay within the confines of my skull. I was very inspired by S7 x E2 of RAM. ❤️
Cupman 💙
- A bit more apathy in his cup these days, he is very perpetually tired. You'd be sparse to see him even try his charm and wit these days
- His gambling addiction didn't seem to cross over into Mugsy. But he's much less 'I'm going to bet on black and win.' More se 'I am a professional card counter.'
- He is less of a prankster/slacker, he actually runs the bar like you would not believe. He basically lives behind that counter but he prefers it that way.
- Mugman's love for knowledge somehow made it in and Cup is actually much more interested in the inner mechanical workings of intricate devices with little teeny tiny parts rather than hitting the books (He still cannot read.)
Mughead ❤️
- Mug has an even shorter temper than before. He is still incredibly emotionally driven but now there's less of a leash to it.
- Unfortunately Mughead is still as much of a hopeless romantic as he was before. Only now he cries and absolutely YAKS to his brother about anyone who just happens to catch this Mug's attention (Or lack thereof.)
- Mugman doesn't actually hate having Cuphead's social butterfly habits. In fact he's actually overjoyed. He just wished his shy nature and stage fright went with it.
- He and Cups are still as thick as ever. Mughead is just much more physically affectionate these days to his brother than just a good old pat on the back when Cupman is feeling low.
*Exhales* NOW. 🙌👏 With all that established
Cupman and Mughead are open for questions.
(They literally just work at a separate club/bar in the Isles. Don't go to crazy. TwT)
