Waiting You From Season to Season [Kitsune Atsumu x Reader]
As a shrine maiden myself,i usually just stay from the shrine cleaning it everyday,watching the foxes pass by.Its been a family tradition,But who am i to complain? Adjusting my kimono and went out to brush the leaves of the blooming cherry blossoms,A familiar orange fox walks beside her and sits staring at the falling leaves of the cherry blossom.
"Oh.. its you again,do you want to go inside and have some tea with me?" i smiled.Even though the fox wont understand me,i would treat them like an equal human with love.
I set the broom at the tree and walked inside the shrine,i glanced at the fox who's patiently sitting."Hmm.. ill be back for a sec.." I went inside and grabbed left over onigiri's and some tea for myself.I walked back to the patient fox
"Sorry i took awhile,here.." i placed the treat at the ground and the fox slowly walked up to the treats and eat.
I took a sip of tea and stared at the sky. " Looks like winter is about to come.. its gonna take awhile to see the cherry blossoms once again.."
Day and the day next i would visit the shrine caretaker and become their companion,I would always feel bad watching them talking to no one else but themselves.
As usual i came to see them once again,but they were not out,the white snow was slowly falling from the sky,as the path through her shrine was slowly getting packed by snow.
I peeked through the small door as she was drinking as usual
"Oh..its you,come in its snowing outside" They called,their sweet smile plasting through their face.
Being her company everyday isnt boring at all,listening to their rants,thier stories,and the feeling of lonelyness
One day i decided to finally show them who am i,My tail happily swaying as i walk to the path back to their shrine.
As i knocked through the door,no one answered,I knocked again and again,i waited patiently.Worry got into me and decided to go inside.I saw them laying at their futon,face was beatroot red.. Theyre having a fever.I went to her small kitchen and boiled water,and grabbed a rag to clean them up.
"..Huh.." they called out
" I gues.. my fever are turning worst.." They tried closing their eyes and stared at mines again
" Shh.. dont worry ill take care of you "
A snow storm went pass through the nights as i tried to put effort giving heat that (y/n) needs.It was hard trying to cook food,i have no idea how human cooking works,does she even now im a kitsune..?
As few more days passed,the snow started to melt as (y/n)'s fever went down they become more responsive.
As the spring went by,their pale skin was visible,but she still continue to clean the shrine,and i decided to help.Even though their fever dropped,she would often cough here and there,But i make sure she stills eat her proper meal,and take care of themselves.
"I can do it myself tsumu.." i held the spoon infront of her
"Just say ah lil cutie" i teased
Summer came,and the hot season didnt help (Y/n) at all
I patiently cutted the melon and gave it to them,"Eat" I said as she replied "Alright alright"
As the gods above didnt become generous today,the water circulation through the shrine stopped working,And i would bring buckets of water everyday to keep her hydrated,Luckily theres a near river.
Finally the summer passed by as the Autumn went,Their condition become worst.
"*Coughs* *coughs* I-ill be fine.. i promise" they stared at me and smiled,I couldt hold to stare at them in this stare,their once pretty skin was pale,their blossom lips where dry,and their usual glowing eyes were dull and out of life.
I cant do anything else but to hold them and stare at the sky.
"Tsumu..,thanks for keeping me company.. this year" they smiled.
"If i were to disapear one night,will you wait for me to come back?"
Its been years,seasons keeps cycling,And ill wait for you from season to season.
Ps.This isnt supposed to end but angst got me lmao
