“ah, (y/n), how nice of you to join us!” julius says as you bow politely before relaying the report to marx who ushered you to the side.

you were so caught up with reporting your mission to the royal advisor that you didn’t notice the silver eagles’ captain staring at you… specifically your neck.

turns out he wasn’t the only one staring as yami whistled, catching the attention of all the captains and suddenly, all eyes were on you.

“having fun lately, (y/n)?”

“what do you mean, yami?” yami smirked before tapping his neck twice in signal, your eyes widened before you slapped a hand on your neck, face warming at the thought of the bruise causing a misunderstanding.

but you were not one to back down from yami’s taunts so you let the hand on your neck fall before you gave him a playful wink, continuing on relaying the report of your mission.

nozel was distracted the whole meeting.

when you finished relaying your report, julius seemed to be wrapping up the meeting. you knew that you would have to ask one of the captains to fill you in with what happened during the meeting.

all the captains stood up from their seats, walking towards the door as they were done for the day and will be attending to their respective squads. you bid goodbye to marx and julius before heading out.

you didn’t get very far from your walk when a sudden hand was clasped on your wrist, pulling you further away from your normal route. you were about to retaliate with your magic, but the familiar mana stopped you from doing so.

“nozel, where are we going?” you asked your boyfriend, who said nothing and kept pulling you towards the hallway.

your boyfriend said nothing, stopping after the both of you were nowhere near anyone’s sight.

“now will you tell me what’s going on with you?” you asked, nozel still said nothing, eyes hard as he gently but firmly gripped your neck.

goosebumps rose on your arms as nozel’s eyes were trained on your blemished neck.

“are you cheating on me?” if you didn’t know your boyfriend well enough, you wouldn’t notice the small quiver in his voice.

“nozel... “ you start.

at first, you wanted to prank him, hence why you winked at yami’s comment. but now that the both of you are alone, you could see how he’s trying to brace himself for your answer.

you couldn’t do it.

“i would never.” you stated firmly. “then explain what this bruise is supposed to be.”

nozel never had any doubts on your relationship. he has always felt secured with you, but with how you responded to yami’s taunt, he couldn’t help but let his thoughts get the best of him. and you knew that it will not end well for anyone if you continue this.

“it was during a mission. owen wanted to patch it up for me but i refused in order to get here on time, but unfortunately i was still not quick enough.” you explained.

“i would never think of betraying your trust and doing something so vile and treacherous.” you firmly stated. nozel nodded, feeling a bit bad for mentally accusing you, but was once again brought out of his thought when you cupped his face with your hand.

“i love you.” you say, bringing his face to yours, placing a soft kiss on his lips. “okay?”

“okay.” nozel nodded, stealing a kiss once more before bringing his head down to your neck, making your breath hitch.

“n-nozel?”
