okay, i fully came up with this skit of everyone hanging out at the owl house, having a big group sleepover or something, when hooty screeches as starts chanting about a special visitor [worlds most effective doorbell holy titan] and Gus volunteers to get the door because he's a sweetheart and ofc he does.

So, he does. he pulls open the door with a marshmallow hanging out of his mouth and is met with Mattholomule of all people! Matt who is actively crying and shaking and has FUCKING WINGS?? and he just freezes up and the marshmallow falls from his mouth and he's like "MATTHOLOMULE?"

And Matt, still shaking and crying with rapidly twitching wings sprouting from his back, one looking very much broken and a mess, is like "A- Agustus!?" but he doesn't linger on Gus very long because his eyes are suddenly looking over his shoulder and widening; "Eda! some- somethings happened, i-i can't, they just-" and he pushes past Gus and goes straight for Eda, who is immediately at matt's side and has her hands hovering over his wings with concern.

what the fuck are you supposed to do when you randomly sprout wings as a stress response?

what do you do when one is immediately broken at the hands of a friend?

if they were never meant to be canon then what was with all of this.

and why did they parallel lumity so much.

they had this relationship that changed so much throughout the story and then once we get to the end it suddenly meant nothing.

maybe im just tired but this is genuinely making me upset right now idk

toh made so many ships that had less context canon and we still dont know what the meaning of these two was ever supposed to be because they were just thrown to the side

so yeah im sad that they werent canon. yeah im sad that their relationship got zero attention from the crew.
