Hello everyone, long time no see! Over the last year and some months I have been completely editing, re-working, and updating this story in my free time. Although my goal was to have this completed before updating, I simply can't with the way my life is going right now and I did not want to go into 2025 with all these chapters still in my drive!
The majority of NSA 2.0 is finished! So I decided to give you these chapters!
Every chapter after number 3 has been changed! The story has been reworked and I PROMISE you the BEST parts of NSA are the same!
I have added so many new scenes, interactions, spicy bits, and story elements to NSA 2.0 that I am so happy with and I know you will be too!
If you choose not to re-read everything I completely understand. Especially since my initial desire for it to be done has been prolonged. If our journey ends here, thank you so much for reading it the first time! It means so much to me! <3

Let’s be real tho, it’s been 8 years like you said. We og Makorra shippers are older now and most moved on. There seems to be less than 100 Makorra shippers here on Tumblr now. You might have some luck on TikTok and maybe Instagram.
To be honest, I’m only back in the fandom because I decided to watch TLOK out of order when it arrived on Netflix. I started with Season 2 and ended with Book 1. It had been so long since I’ve seen TLOK it was like I was watching it for the first time again, and I can barely describe rewatching Book 1 except that I fell in love with the show all over. It was the first time I saw Book 1 in 7 years (my 3rd viewing). None of the other seasons came close to the feels Book 1 brought on, and if I watched the seasons in order, I know I wouldn’t be commenting on your message. Instead, I would’ve vented about wasted potential and bad writing on Twitter before watching live-action shows to make a statement.

We also have a new generation of fans, and not only does everyone know what happens, but there also seems to be a shift in attitude about shipping. The other day I saw someone post about how they can’t ship anyone who isn’t canon, and I found that confusing. They wouldn’t know who’s canon until the end of the show. Not sure if I can even call them a shipper as waiting for the writers to tell you the pairing defeats the purpose of shipping couples.
Maybe I haven’t been in enough fandoms to know if it’s always been this way. My engagement with fandoms growing up was with fanfiction, and writers ship whoever the hell they want.

All in all, yah, I wish the Makorra community was bigger and more active. I’ve considered taking drawing lessons because my need for Makorra art is strong, but I’m sticking with AMVs for now. We have so many shots of Mako and Korra together, so there’s plenty for me to work with.🥰

But when you look at Zutara shippers, many are well into their 30s and still active in the fandom. I don’t think it’s just about time passing for Makorra shippers. A lot of them faced constant dogpiling and negativity, which can take the joy out of being part of a fandom. It makes sense that some might have stepped away after dealing with that for so long.

Hot take? Korra is not 5’9. She is the shortest person in the krew and Mako is a head taller than her. As an artist “a head” measurement is usually 10-12inches. So that would make Mako 6’9???? In what world? Average height for men is 5’9 Lmao Tenzin just walking around 7’4 in this bitch? No lol
Asami the second tallest and Bolin only a few inches taller. The only reason Asami looks like her height in this poster is because she is slouching/leaning down towards Korra.
I also saw another post saying how short Lin is and Korra and Lin are a lot closer in height. The tallest I’d put Korra is 5’5. She is smol.
The first image is a head canon but perfect for my head canon so I’m adding it! lol Even if Mako is above average height at 6’2-6’4; he is still a head taller than Korra. So realistically she’s around 5’5 or shorter.
My ex partner and I had this exact ratio in height difference and they were a foot (head) taller than me at 6’3 and I am 5’2. That’s why I was always like what? Korra can not be 5’9 that makes Mako illogically taller.
And Mako is not a character like Sparky Sparky Boom Man who is designed to be larger than life. He is an average 17-22 year old boy. Who is shorter than Tenzin mind you and I don’t think Tenzin is walking around at 7ft tall.
She has to get on her toes and he has to lean down to match the gap.

Makorra gets to much hate so it’s hard to find people who just enjoy the ship anywhere. I mean I get a certain ship is canon but what’s wrong with people wanting to ship Mako and Korra in peace?
TOTALLY AGREE!!!! If I recall correctly the hate was the whole reason the makorra 2.0 tag was created. I personally don’t even use tags like tlok, korra, mako, or anything other than strictly makorra tags to avoid any of the potential hate. Idc if my posts get like 2 notes from the lack of tags; My people know where to find me 😜
Sometimes I joke that Amorra gets less hate than makorra 🤣. Like I get that I live my life through a makorra lens, but I don’t think it’s THAT weird to ship a couple that canonically dated and love each other (& always will❤️💙)!! It genuinely doesn’t make any sense to me.
Makorra sometimes feels more like a support group than a normal ship because of the hate 😭. That’s why I made my bio the way I did lol. I am the makorra hotline headass 🤣🤣. 24/7!!!!
