today while ellie was in work, you decided to set up something a little romantic in your room for her to come home. a few rose petals and fake candles scattered around the room.

at 5pm, she texted you half an hour ago to say she’s coming home soon. you sit in bed, making sure your hair and makeup is perfect and that you look absolutely amazing.

you finally hear foot steps coming up the stairs and you get so excited. smiling uncontrollably as you hear the bedroom door open but, to your surprise, she walks immediately past everything you set up. she walks over to her gecko cage and taps on the glass.

“hey hey pebbles wake up”

she says, smiling at the glass.

you cough loudly and dramatically.
