I started another art class, and we're currently abstracting buildings :]

The right photo is a 3in x 4in sketch, and the left is a 9in x 12in ink drawing I'm still working on based off of the sketch!

#It's an 8 hour class twice a week‚ but the time has been flying by!!#I even stayed 2 more hours after the class ended today to keep working on this drawing #It's almost done! The only things i have left to do are tiny details (there are a few smudges I need to paint-#-over in white and one triangle at the top I didn't get to ink before I had to leave)#it's also not perfect‚ but the professor said she didnt care about perfect perspective in this assignment :]#I like the details in the sketch‚ but I also like the simplicity of the ink drawing #The only downside to this class is that we go outside a lot to draw what we observe in person‚ but its been 95°F+ every day :(#my art #traditional art #college assignment

#Paul Newman #I am SO happy with these drawings :D #I'm trying out a looser style and kind of mixing realism with stylization and i really like how these look :]#Sunglasses are impossible to draw though‚ haha. Ignore them and look at his face instead!!#I dont remember how long the first one took me‚ but the 2nd one took like 30 minutes and the 3rd took around 50 minutes #I forget sometimes how much I love to draw :)#Irrelevant to the drawings but I'm very slowly making my way through his filmography and have now watched 11 of his movies!#my art #traditional art #I have 1 week left before classes start again-#-so I hope to find some more time to draw between all the crocheting and movie-watching I've been doing‚ haha

Drew him for an assignment :]

#I'm technically not done yet (I havent erased some pencil marks) but i don't feel like waiting to post this #I'm so busy with college that the only way I found time to draw him was to do it for an assignment‚ haha!#If you're wondering what the assignment is‚ it's for an art class that's having us remake-#-an old piece in a different medium and then write a paper about it #So this is an ink drawing based on a painting i made of him last year! Now i have to go write that paper though :(#The swirls aren't perfect‚ but honestly‚ I'm fine with that. #Really quick Dean drawing #I struggled a bit on his eyes‚ but I think they turned out alright #dean martin #my art #traditional art #Also‚ his nose looks a little strange‚ but I think it's okay....#I'm forgiving any mistakes I made because I only spend a couple of minutes on this

#You can see which parts i did not work on at all today‚ haha #I think it's actually more like a 1.5 hour difference (and it was supposed to be 2.75 hours) because I got distracted on my phone-#-since a professor edited a big part of a project's requirements the day before it's due and now she won't email me back #<- that got me unreasonably stressed out and I got a headache and then I felt like I couldn't draw anymore :(#Anyway‚ I guess I'm happy with how this drawing came out #I still don't see a paper ball since all I can see is a face‚ but i definitely improved my shading from the last class #my art #traditional art #college assignment

I have to draw a crumpled piece of paper for class. I think it's looking okay, but I definitely need to keep working on it (especially the smaller details), so at least I have 3 more hours.

#The photo was taken at a slightly different angle than my line of sight to the crumpled paper #I'm not going for perfect accuracy with every tiny detail‚ but i do want it to at least look like a crumpled piece of paper #I think I'll post the finished version if I dont completely mess it up #That'll be on Thursday though because that's when I have the class again #my art #traditional art #college assignment #<- I guess I'll keep using that tag if I keep posting art I made for a class #I also might delete this later because I think some of my classmates use tumblr....

Most of the little free time I have is spent on this site #I feel like I draw so well in my figure drawing class‚ but then I try to draw at home and I struggle a lot :/#maybe it's the pressure from class to get a good grade‚ haha #I'm okay with this‚ though. It's not terrible #Stress has been through the roof recently with assignments and noncooperative teammates in a group project so it was nice to draw these two #Ok. That's all I have to say. I almost gave up 6 times throughout the two hours it took me to draw this, but I'm glad I didn't!!

#dean martin #jerry lewis #martin and lewis #my art #traditional art #The drawing was looking very dire at the beginning....like‚ I thought I'd forgotten how to draw because of how bad it was....#I think I'm getting better at drawing full bodies rather than just busts‚ but I definitely have a lot more to improve on.#I want to try to draw faster and rely on references less extremely‚ but that is going to take a lot more practice and experience :(#Oh well‚ thought! I'm overall extremely happy with this!!!#It looks kind of confusing with all the shade and wrinkles‚ but I think it's okay #Jerry is me and Dean is my cat when there's a small gecko in the house‚ haha

A silly doodle of Dean and Jerry as frogs!! Inspired by my sister, who asked me to redraw them as frogs since, according to her, "they both look like silly frogs" in some of the posters in my room.
