Good news, Merlin fans! Sign ups for Kinkalot 2025 are officially open, and you know what that means: it’s time to let your kink flag fly! Signing up is as easy as 1, 2, 3… We’re back again for our 7th year filling the hole, greasing the wheels, turning the knobs, and getting ready for a hot, kinky summer of filthy PWP goodness. We hope you’ll join us this August! Unfortunately, due to other commitments we are unable to run the event in its previous incarnation this year. We know that some of you will be disappointed as you were looking forward to participating in the fest again, or perhaps for joining in with the team event for the first time. We apologise for this, but never fear! This year, we have that covered too! As we didn’t want to leave you all hanging with regards to a summer of kinky fun. So are bringing back the Kinkalot Bingo challenge just for you! WHAT'S NEW THIS YEAR? - Individual Challenge: This year you can pick the bingo card size that's the right size for you! - Team Challenge: Form your own team of 2-4 people and work together to complete a team bingo card Please check out the FAQs for more details! WHAT IS KINKALOT BINGO? - Kinkalot Bingo is a low pressure, fun challenge where participants can complete as many, or as few squares as they’d like (subject to team challenge rulels) on a random NSFW prompts bingo card. No pressure! The aim of this event is to challenge yourself to try new things and create new works as we join together to fill our cards and enjoy a summer full of porny Merlin fun! (Participants MUST be 18+ and fills must be Mature- or Explicit-rated for sexual content).

The first of our Kinkalot 2023 Bonus Challenges - this challenge is open to EVERYONE.

Our bonus challenge for Week 1 is all about the bare necessities.

For writers, that means dialogue only! Your challenge is to get us hot and bothered without the use of dialogue tags, description or action of any kind (and yes, text format is welcome for this challenge!).

For artists, we want to see EITHER line art OR monochrome creations. It doesn’t have to be black and white, so long as you pick one colour and stick with it. The choice is yours in this week’s bonus challenge!

Just remember; for this challenge less is more!

What is Kinkalot, you ask?

Kinkalot is an annual porn fest run by and for the BBC Merlin fandom, following in the footsteps of such fabulous forebears as Pornalot and the late, great Summer Pornathon! Kinkalot celebrates both our love of Merlin and our love of porny fanworks. It runs during the month of August, with the aim of being a short, fun, kinky fest for the entire Merlin fandom. Any and all pairings/moresomes, kinks, and types of fanwork are welcome.

How it works:

The fest involves the following:

2 weekly main challenges (500-1,000 words, or art equivalent).

3 weekly bonus challenges (freeform, no word count limits, anything goes).

An ongoing team bingo challenge (500-1,500 words per fill, or art equivalent).

An ongoing team commenting challenge.

All participants are encouraged to join our Kinkalot Discord Server (18+ only) to mingle with other Kinkalotians and coordinate with your team members.

Requirements:

You MUST be 18 or older to participate;

You MUST vote on the weekly main challenge entries;

You MUST submit entries for both of the two (2) main challenge entries and two (2) bingo fills over the course of the fest (~2000 words/art equivalent in total).

Entries also need to be Mature- or Explicit-rated for sexual content and provide appropriate content warnings where applicable.

Things are heating up in the Merlin fandom, and we hope you’re ready for another scorcher, as it’s almost time to sign up for Kinkalot 2023! What is Kinkalot? Kinkalot is an annual porn fest run by and for BBC Merlin fans, following in the footsteps of such fabulous forebears as Pornalot and the late, great Summer Pornathon. This year's fest will be slightly shorter than usual, but just as sweet! From 12 August, we'll be hosting two (2) weekly NSFW prompt challenges for participants, as well as three (3) weekly bonus challenges that are open to all comers (heh). Participants are also allocated into teams, who can compete together in our (almost) month-long Team Bingo and Commenting challenges for the honour of winning the (still entirely fictitious) Kinkalot Cup. I want in! How do I take part? Sign-ups will open on 10 July 2023, but in the meantime feel free to check out our Rules and FAQ for more information on how the fest works.
