One of my teachers told me this story about how he was teaching Fahrenheit 451, and a mom found out that it said g**d***. She took it to the principal of the school raving about how it was inappropriate for her child to be reading and how it was so bad.

The principal looked at her and calmly asked, “Do you know what the book is about?”

“No, I just know that it swears and takes the Lord’s name in vain and it’s bad and should be banned!” or something like that

“Ma'am, this book is about how we shouldn’t ban books.”

And the lady just goes, “Oh.” And she walked out.
