🦋 What are the zodiac signs in astrology?

The 12 zodiac signs: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces are 30 degree sectors that occupy Earth's orbit around the sun. There are 1 sign assigned for each month of the year and the transition of one zodiac sign to another is marked as a beginning of a new season. Thus, the 30 degrees can also translate to 30 days.

In spiritual terms the 12 zodiac signs represent the wheel of fate, and mark cycles of beginnings and endings; the journey of life and the acceptance of death.

These signs are grouped traditionally by seasonal quadrants (by seasonal changes in time):

Spring - vernal equinox to summer solstice (Aries-Gemini)

Summer - summer solstice to autumn equinox (Cancer-Virgo)

Autumn - autumn equinox to winter solstice (Libra-Sagittarius)

Winter - winter solstice to vernal equinox (Capricorn-Pisces)

And they are also grouped by elemental trinities:

The trinity of Earth (cold, feminine): Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
