“ now what kind of girl do you take me for? ” she inquires with a raised brow. a small smile graces her lips as she shakes her head. “ sorry to break it to you, but kisses are something you have to earn from me. i don’t just hand them out for free. ”

“The kind who appreciates it when her unnie buys her an iced caramel macchiato, two shots in the middle of the night,” she raises two fingers, curling them in some kind of pair of sad bunny ears, a sort of aegyo she’s learned to insert in her conversations from time to time, especially when it involves her dongsaengs. This one was particularly interesting however, Yoora’s medical student studies were one thing--Kina could always use a person such as her in the future, but it was the steely look that she found burrowed deep in the other’s dark brown eyes that she was curious to peel back with time. “Chunsa, really?” Kina begins, unbraiding one of the pigtails she had done earlier, leaning forward to sip at her own frothy pink drink in her free hand. 

She had made his thoughts audible, though he would’ve chosen the adjective differently. Was this horror to her? Like war was to some, post-apocalyptic films to others? Sitting down for an entire movie was one of the horrors Insung knew, so the word ‘scary’ did hold true in a sense. “Variety?”, Insung suggested optimistically, running his fingertips lightly across the remote control’s buttons while watching her. If she was to propose another flick he’d rather choose the red button at the top, and take her out to watch the clouds instead, the sea, or just anything else worth seeing. It could’ve been cruel considering Insung had promised her a movie night, making a rare exception as a person to whom watching lengthy films was more about enduring them. Promises were promises. If she wanted to start anew with another film, it was only fair to comply.

Despite her previous words, Kina wasn’t the type to easily scare,--hasn’t felt the tingle of fear creep along the line of her spine or seep in the edges of her vision to bring tears to her eyes in the longest time. Yet she turns in her spot on the couch, gathering one of her baby twin’s famous pouts to adorn her own carefully painted lips to accentuate further. Her lashes fanned across her cheeks as she looked down in her thoughts, the bright television screen creating shadows that kiss her skin with its ever changing glow.  It was the strain that she was beginning to feel from watching the movie tugging at her eyes much like a headache, the dull pain stuffing her head with cotton.

"Do I really mean nothing to you?"

"I never meant to hurt you!"

"You are worth less than dirt to me."

"We could have been happy together..."

"I should've protected you!"

"Will you stay with me till I'm gone?"

"Don't leave me here, please!"

"It was my fault... it was all my fault!"

"I don't want to die-!"

"Please give me another chance!"

"It's okay... I wasn't meant to survive this."

"Please forgive me..."

"I'm dying and you can't stop it."

"You're dying and I can't stop it!"

"I only came to say goodbye."

"Stay with me!"

"I thought you loved me. I was wrong."

"I thought I loved you. I was wrong."

"Please don't hurt me!"

"I don't want to see you."

"I'm so sorry..."

"I'm ending it tonight. Don't try to stop me..."

"What did you do to yourself?"

"You can't just tell me to leave!"

"This wasn't meant to work out, you know."

"It's too hard. It's just too hard..."

"I was stupid to think you cared."

Lost lashes batted with the closure of petite arms around her tiny frame. Her own moving quickly to return the embrace and just in time for she could no longer feel the solid ground under long heels. Instead, the whisk of air curled against her skin and the younger found herself wishing her twin could but shrink and one of those little differences could melt away. ❝ A Pretty treat? ❞ She’d question carefully, searching those bright silvers for any sign, no doubt a bite or simple gift… and still with such words she failed in dissecting, her curiosity bubbled. ❝ What is it? ❞

“Mm, let’s have a guessing game,” She carried her beloved baby sister close to her chest, feels the subtle beat of her heart begin to fall in line with her own, what is a surprised flutter of a sound in her ears was then like the steady drizzle of rainfall.
