“Honestly, men are so dumb sometimes. No offence to you, definitely don’t mean you, but some are just… So dumb,” Vinnie sighed, shaking her head, “Thank you. I’ll definitely keep that in mind if I need someone to talk to.”

“Oh no, I am fully included in the men that are dumb,” he laughed. “For sure. People need people, don’t be alone.”

“make it the center piece on your dining room table.” she suggest as a joke. “oh I defiantly want to.” she said, accepting his offer. “oh i know. I had to clear out a closet in my apartment just for outfits and other..stuff.” she laughed.

“You free? I’m enjoying my limited spare time left by doing a whole lot of nothing, so I’ve got time,” he smiled. “Shut up, I wanna have a look through your closet someday soon. Who knows, maybe we’ll inspire each other to try something new.”

“You’d be surprise how angry the teens get on weekend when they wanna shop here but I’m out for lunch.” She rolled her eyes at the memory. Smiling, she lead the way. “Sounds like fun to me plus if you want to check out the store, I’ll give you some discounts.”

“Ah, teenagers, how could I forget?” Jamie chuckled. “Sounds like a no-lose scenario to me, then!” he grinned. “I get good food, company, and discounts? I sound like my grandma but like, that’s a damn good day to me.”

Danielle couldn’t help but burst out into a fit of laughter. “you’re joking right?” she asked as she gasped for breath. “ I have to see this to believe it’s real.” 

“I wish i was joking, it makes a hilarious conversation piece. I have yet to show my boyfriend, I have to wonder what he’d say,” he laughed. “You’re welcome to come by and see it. And like, the rest of the small collection I’m amassing. The job definitely has its perks.”

“Seriously, I shit you not!” Jamie laughed. “I’ve come to be like, ‘whatever’ when I open my PO box, you know? But how this person expects me to fit something that big,” he said, holding his hands out to show the ridiculous size, “Is beyond me. And the thing finishes and everything.”

‘’ the family’s been getting blue flowers, hydrangea’s, iris’, they are beautiful flowers. “ josephine nodded her head.

“Oh, I like hydrangeas,” Jamie nodded. “I’ll take some of those, I think.”

“ it’s okay.. thank you. “ josephine let out a sigh, her hand brushing through her long blonde hair. “ can i help you with something ??” she offered.

“I don’t know anything about flowers,” Jamie admitted with a frown. “But I want to pay my respects to Blue. Do you have any suggestions?”

“hey…” he paused, licking his lips. “we’re getting dog.” louie more or less told the other.  “i’ve been thinking about it.. and i… went to the pound.. and there’s this cutest pitbull.. jamie we’ve gotta get her.”

“We?” Jamie asked with a giddy smile, ecstatic at the idea of it—not that the two lived together or anything. But the idea that it was theirs was something beautiful. “Take me to meet her.”

“Oh, for sure, but that’s bullshit. We’re all human, we all have emotions. The world would be a better place if men talked about their feelings,” Vinnie sighed, nodding, “Yeah, I’m just worried it’s like… gonna hit me hard at some point.”

“I know this, and you know this, but tell some of the cis het guys in my classes that,” he shrugged. He frowned when she expressed her worry. “If it does, I’m here for you, alright? My door’s always open.”

“i didn’t forget it!” riley protested with a smile, “my alarm clock did!” he closed the door behind him, quickly patting down his pockets to make sure he had everything he needed. “waffle date coming up.”

“Thank god, I was about to lose my mind,” he teased with a smile. “Things are really sad around here today and we’re way overdue to play catch-up.”

“hang on, hang on, hang on!” riley called when someone knocked on his door, getting there and opening it squarely as he tried to pull his shirt down. “what’s up?” riley asked breathlessly. “i slept in.”

“I can’t believe you forgot our brunch date!” Jamie pouted with a little whine. “I’m starving and need waffles like, yesterday.”

being the owner of a florist shop, it was sad to see the occasions the most flowers were bought during. while there were a few customers that strolled in for dates & anniversary’s, she knew it was time for grieving, or a funeral when multiple people stopped in on one day. and while it meant business, she just couldn’t stand to know another innocent person was murdered. tending to a few of her iris’ out front of her shop, she let out a small gasp as she heard someone behind her. “ oh i’m so sorry..  just.. a little on edge. “

Jamie had only known the girl who had passed vaguely, but he still felt like he had to leave flowers for the services. He offered the owner of the shop an apologetic smile when she startled. “Sorry. We all are right now, I guess. I should’ve made my presence more known.”

gunnar: it’s all fun and games till someone says you’re so pretty they could punch you.

“it definitely is, I don’t know why people get embarrassed about it but I digress,” she mused, “Yeah but I also think I’m still in a bit of shock because this really doesn’t feel real.”

“I can speak for men when I say toxic masculinity is usually what keeps them from talking about their feelings, they feel like they’re less of a man if they do but fuck all that noise,” he shrugged. “Maybe that’s better? I’m not a psychiatrist, I could be wrong. But feeling like it’s only a nightmare...feels like the better choice to me.”

Rachel was in a rush. She had a meeting with a client that in 30 minutes and she still had a lot to do. She was moving hastily, getting Theo to his sitter, not even noticing that he had dropped his toy. Hearing a voice speak to her she whipped around, seeing him hold said toy. A smile formed on her lips. “Thank you so much.” She mused as she walked towards him. “What do you say Theo?” She asked her son before he mumbled out thank you as best he could.

Jamie beamed down at the child when he thanked him, his heart swelling a little bit. He forgot sometimes how much he adored children and wanted some of his own someday. “It’s no problem at all. I’m just glad I got it back in time before he could get upset about it.”

“Thank god, you’re chill about it.” She chuckled a bit. “I’m actually going to get some food down at the cafe, you wanna join?”

“Poor timing on my part isn’t your fault, ‘course I’m gonna be chill,” he shrugged. He smiled at the idea of the cafe. “Okay yeah, errands can wait, I’m always down for that place.”

Seeing it was close to her lunch break, she shoved her wallet, keys and lipstick into her purse. Putting up the sign that she was out, she locked the door. “Sorry babe, I’m out for lunch.” She hummed hearing some footsteps approach her. “Can it wait for an hour or?” She questioned turning to the other person as she cocked her head to one side. 

“Oh, sure, I’m not in a rush,” he nodded. “I’ll run some other errands in the meantime.”
