chapter tw: charles being an idiot, reader being depressed as always, panic attack? uhhh i feel bad for charles man...
People often said that good fortune came shortly after bad luck, but in your case, nothing could ever compensate for your shitty fate.
This is possibly the worst case scenarioā¦!
Well, perhaps it wasn't the worst case scenario, considering how you'd already suffered the worst of it. But still, getting caught in the middle of doing something you clearly weren't supposed to do was not a favourable outcome nonetheless.
"L-Lady [Name]?!"
Shit.
You'd been careful, very careful, so fucking carefulā overly careful! And somehow, because the world itself seemed to have a personal vendetta against you, your paranoid vigilance was regrettably backfiring on you.
"Charlesā¦? Whaā what are you doing hereā¦?"
Light instantly invaded your vision, courtesy of the lantern the boy had been carrying in the deep of the night. You blinked repeatedly, eyes quickly adjusting to the blinding glow the flame gave off with quiet value.
Damn it!
While waiting for the evening to spread its wing of darkness over the residence, you had thought ā like the foolish moron you were ā that it'd be best to avoid drawing any kind of attention to yourself, even if meant navigating around this maze-like place without a light-sourceā¦
And while there was some kind of strange reasonability to your much stranger thinking, it was the kind of stupidity that was unbecoming of someone like you who was already treading on thin ice.
"Well, Iā I could ask you the same!" He grew startled from your sudden question, shoving his free hand behind his back with frightā a sight that oddly resembled a frightened kitten taking on a defensive stance.
"I'm on a walk." You collected yourself with praiseworthy celerity, arms crossing warily as your gaze fixed intently on the little flame that lit up the short distance between the two of you.
It was so small, and yet, even a fire as tiny as this was capable of ending your lifeā¦
You made a point to ignore your jagged nerves, raising a sharp brow at him as you put on a stern front. "Is there a problem with that?"
"Noā noā¦" The boy immediately grew timid under your pointed scrutiny, gaze avoidant and hanging low with shame as he slowly approached you with surprising caution, an action that didn't go unnoticed by you. "There isn'tā¦"
Pleased to hear that you wouldn't be put under further interrogation, you let out a short hum of approval. It seems, that the boy was still riddled with guilt from the last time he'd caused you accidental harm, and whilst you knew it was wrong to take advantage of his vulnerability, your bad nature all came down to your survival in the end.
A necessary evil, if you will.
"So?" You urged, cringing at the awkward silence that filled the air around you. Perhaps, you could've been the slightest bit kinder on your approach, but then again, you really couldn't afford to be a pushoverā¦
At least not to those that weren't bound to you through the system. "What about you?"
"ā¦I beg your pardon?" He blinked, confusion written all over his face.
"How come you're here and out so late into the evening, young knight?" You addressed him with questionable fondness, your demeanour changing to that of a worried adult's. "A boy like you needs sleep to grow! Did you know?"
"ā¦But I'm more grown than you." Charles perked up hearing your scolding, as if he were innately wired to argue against anyone that chided him with regards to his well-being. "Maybe you need someā oh- uhā¦wait, nevermindā¦"
"What do I need? Hm?" You urged with a closed eyed smile, an assertive approach you quickly came to regret when it had the averse effect on the boy.
"It's.. um, nothin'ā¦" He muttered, shuffling his feet around and finding sudden interest in the ground below.
"ā¦."
What..?
Did he seriously expect you to believe that? When he looked a short moment away from exploding into a puddle of guilt?
It's clear even he's hiding something from meā¦
"I see," sighing, you bottled your confusion to be investigated at a later time, choosing to instead guard him with an unfazed stare. A ruse to appear as if his abrupt withdrawal wasn't bothering you, when in reality, you were itching to pounce him for information. "Well, how come you're out so late then?"
"Uhā a, a walk!" He yelped, the lantern flickering as he swiped his nose, a movement that made his muddied fingernails visible.
"ā¦You, are also out on a walk?" You rose a dubious brow, fighting back a scoff at his very believable alibi.
"Yes." The boy responded no further, perhaps fearing digging himself a grave.
But unfortunately for him, the moment he'd begun lying to you, he'd already set himself in the casket. After all, there wasn't quite an expert liar much like yourself, not to mention, your perception was far superior than that of others.
"I suppose that fits." You nodded with a contemplative hum, studying how his shoulders sagged with immediate relief at the notion of a 'successful' cover story.
"See? I wasā"
"The knight of flowers, on his walk to deliver her Ladyship his evening bouquetā¦" You narrated sardonically as you tapped your chin in mock thought, the mortification growing on his face satisfying you more than you'd like to admit. "Yes, it surely is a sound story I believe in."
"No- no!" The boy shook his head fervently, his hidden hand finally emerging with a bundle of flowers you suspected he was carrying.
"No?" You mocked with an encouraging smile, tilting your head curiously as you watched him throw the blooms a far distance away from himā a poor resort at destroying his incriminating evidence.
"It wasn't meā it- it was," he stammered, eyes flailing about everywhere as he struggled to find his words in his plight of embarrassment. "It was Hugo's idea, not mine!"
"ā¦."
What?
That, promptly wiped the grin off your face.
"H-Hugo's⦠idea?" It was your turn to be mortified, your earlier amusement now nowhere to be found, for his admittance ā something you've been desperately searching for ā has knocked the arrogance out of you.
A bout of silence ensued between the two of you, one Charles used to collect himself after his moment of humiliation before he nodded to make his point, the tufts of his pale blond hair bouncing from the sudden movement.
"Yeā yesā¦" Charles let out a small sigh of relief, secretly glad to no longer be the topic of discussion. "He's the one that told me about theā um, the flowers⦠he likes to read books!"
"Does he now..?" You blinked with weary, a heavy weight akin to defeat clinging to your shoulders.
"Yes! He's always reading!" The boy huffed, stomping his feet with pent up frustration. "Sometimes, he even reads nothing! Nothing!"
"I seeā¦" You nodded absentmindedly, not really paying attention to his little rant, not when you could feel a familiar sickness pool in the pit of your stomach. "Then⦠was he, was he the one that often accompanied you in the library..?"
A heavy lump clung to your throat as the horrifying realisation slowly dawned upon you.
That day in the library, when you'd scolded Charles for constantly following you around, you'd also expressed your fury to another person. Someone who was hidden behind the tall bookshelves, someone you clearly couldn't identify, someone who turned out to be one of your love interestsā¦
"Hugoā" You find yourself saying before you can think as you desperately reach out to the boy. "Where is he, where isā? Charles, where is Hugo?!"
"Huh?" He lets out a noise of surprise when your hands, shaky and forlorn, land on his shoulders. "Lady- my lady, are you cold?"
"Cold?" Your eyes scrunch as you try to consider his words, a task that is entirely too difficult for you who is clearly distracted with countless other things. "No, I, no⦠Charlesā Hugo! Where is he!?"
You had to apologise to Hugoā quick! You had to appease his anger! If not, if not then- if you didn't do it now then you'd be punished by the system! It said, it said you would receive a penalty if you failed to win the affection of your love interests! And you, you were already in the negatives with Hugo!
This was terrible news!
"[Name]!"
"Eugh..."
You snap out of your spiralling at the sudden warmth that envelopes you. The boy's hands are around yours in an instant, the roughness of his fingers against yours a grounding presence, evening out your breath that is as heavy as your weighing thoughts.
The bright flame of his lantern engulfing your vision eases out, revealing his boyish expression that is infused with gut-wrenching worry. It quells all of your volatile fears for a short moment, even the hiccups of your wayward heart that are normally difficult to live with.
"You- you look paleā¦" He admits against himself, yellow eyes radiant like morning sunshine. "My lady, are you⦠feeling well?"
And you are reminded once more, that Charles is a child not bound by the system's rulings like everyone else is. The young knight's words are full of childish candour, they aren't woven with dishonesty like yours are, a realisation that painfully highlights your undying guilt.
"I'mā I amā¦" You struggle helplessly before succumbing to his quaint comfort. "..Fine⦠I'm fine."
You're okay.
Everything is well.
It's fine.
They're all cruel lies that you feed yourself, but because you are the master of deceit, you hope that one of them ends up fooling you somehow.
Just need an energy drinkā¦
And somehow, because you were so determined to get your hands on an energy drink, you'd managed to convince Charles to 'join' you on your late evening stroll without any qualms.
While you wanted to do nothing more than kiss Hugo's ass in hopes to receive his forgiveness and be free from his fury, you were so close to acquiring caffeine, a substance you desperately needed to function. Aborting your mission now would simply be a waste, especially after you spent a painful amount of time coming up with a plan to reach the fountain of fortune.
So, sighing pitifully to yourself and looking off into the distance with a faraway gaze, whilst mumbling about how you wished there was a strong and honourable knight to accompany you on the rest of your walk was a foolproof way to have the boy offer his service on his own accord.
Of course, you felt a little bad taking advantage of his guilt once more, so to ease yours, you silently promised to yourself that it'd be the last time you would do something like this. Partly because after this, he'd finally feel as if he'd made it up to you, and thus, guilt tripping him would be a difficult effort, but also because the opportunity right now was just too good to let pass!
He was literally carrying a lantern for crying out loud! And with your sight now restored from what was basically pitch darkness, navigating around the terrain ā that you spent an unreasonable amount of time memorising ā to find the fountain with your treasure was as easy as stealing candy from a child!
And, after finally spotting the fountain that's been both the source of your nightmare and your wealth to come, you offhandedly made a comment about needing to take a break to rest your feetā¦
Which is exactly how you've found yourself in your current predicament.
Your slippers are off and forgotten to one side as you sit on the ledge of the fountain, and the length of your night gown is drawn up to your knees for easier access as you stretch your feet, an act that is seen as incredibly indecent from the adolescent boy beside you.
The stammers that pour out of him are a telling sign of his fluster, but despite his embarrassment that has him scrunch his eyes shut with comical effect, he's yet to skedaddle away like he normally would've. A gesture much appreciated, for the lantern is still in his hand, a guiding light that aids your search for the coin of wealth.
Sure enough, your endeavours bear the fruits of their labour.
There!
It's a realisation that brings ease to your heart and relief to your shoulders. Urging you to cast a quick glance at your protector for the night, ensuring that his sights are off of you, before your gaze returned back to the shallow water with impatience.
With one hand gripping the edge of the fountain tight, you're twisting your upper body to lean over the open water, your other hand stretches over to reach the coin that sits at the bottom with cruel mockery. The tips of your fingers run over the cool water, a temperature that pulls a short hiss out of you but nothing more.
So closeā¦!
Your left hand is completely submerged now, and the edge of the coin teases the pads of your skin invitingly. But before you can get a good handle on its tiny surface, a gust of wind hits you, and its followed byā
"Boo."
"Arghā!"
You're losing your balance before you realise.
One moment you're gripping onto the ledge for dear life, but the unknown intrusion has startled you out of your wits, and you'reā you're falling!
Right into that icy cold water again!
Again!
Though before you could brace for impact and accept your shameful reality, an arm ā strong and heavy ā hoists around your waist and pulls you back with force that knocks the air clean out of you.
"Caught you."
You let out choked gasp, you're arms flailing about for a short moment, a movement that draws attention to the loose ring around your finger.
Shit! My ring's falling offā
It slips and slips without any signs of stopping.
Your brows fly up with comical horror as it slips some more. Then, as if joining hands with fate to mock you, it slides off your finger and drops into the water with a short plop. A noise that is greatly overshadowed by the furious thumps of your heart.
Youād come all the way out here, and so late into the evening at that, to retrieve the gold coin that would feed your wealth to immeasurable amount... But instead of gaining anything, you were paying for your greed by losing something else of great value?
Could this get any worse?
And fate, taking that as a personal challenge, doesn't give you a chance to revel in the frustration of losing the ring that you've assigned all your future financial burdens to.
You don't even get a single moment to cry over spilt milk when the man, who was at primary fault, speaks again, his familiar voice ringing in your ears peevishly.
"My lady, it's unsightly that someone of your standing takes frequent baths in the fountain."
As if failing to collect the gold coin and losing your ring wasn't terrible enough, the system's notification, something that is clearly unable to read the fucking room, pings. Reminding you of the fact that all of your past efforts ā to avoid being caught red-handed in the act of doing something you clearly weren't supposed to be fucking doing ā have been in utter vain.

ā¦Hello, itās me Loki again :) You know, the president of the literature club! There are also some other members, but they arenāt important right now. The schoolās festival is coming up, and there is still a lot to do⦠but you will help me, right? :) ā this story isnāt suitable for children or those who are easily disturbed. (TW: depression)
wc: 5.3 k | part one
You opened the door to the classroom, your bag slung over your shoulder.
ā[ ], you made it!ā
āTchā¦! You were almost late again, you know?ā
āā¦ā
āOh, welcome [ ]! Did you do your assignement? :)ā
You nodded, stepping inside and closing the door behind you.
It has been two weeks since you joined the literature club. It was hardly something that felt foreign to you by now, and over the countless meetings and shared texts, you had come to know a lot more about the different members.
And despite them being all unique and peculiar, you grew fond of each and every one of them.
You set your bag down by the windowsill, rumaging through the contents before pulling out a book. It was another psychology book Kaiser has lend you to read, something you two bonded over ever since you joined.
Speaking of whom, was already leaning against the windowsill, eyes averted as if he was not intentionally positioning himself in your proximity.
You just shook your head at that, stiffling a laugh. You admit, sometimes Kaiser could be downright endearing. You tugged on his sleeve, returning the book to him.
āThank you Kaiser, that book was really good as wellā¦!ā
You said, watching as a faint red hue spread across the blondeās face. He averted his eyes, swiftly snatching the book out of your hands.
āIā! I guess it is alrightā¦ā
He muttered, his blue eyes showing you a glimpse of something warm and soft, armored and guarded by his normally prickly and arrogant demeanor. He seemed to hesitate for a bit, before he fiddled with the pages of the book.
āWeā¦we can discuss the contents if you wantā¦ā
He muttered, but before you could say anything, another member popped up behind you, redirecting your attention to a familiar red head.
āNo time. We need to exchange our assignements.ā
Hugo exclaimed, earning an annoyed eyeroll from Kaiser. You hummed in agreement, pulling out your text from your bag. Hugo was already eyeing it, his own text in his hand, eager to hand it to you.
ā..right. The festival is in a few days, right?ā
You said, a mix of anticipation and nervousness bubbling up. Despite numerous protests, Loki insisted on participating in the school festival, saying that it would bring in more members. He even planned some activities to do and a schedule, like the ever reliable leader he was.
You would present your texts in front of an audience, a task that was hard for everyone who wasnāt in the limelight all the time (aka to everyone except Loki). But he insisted that it could be fun, and alongside yours and Bunnyās encouragement, you got Hugo and Kaiser to agree to it as well.
Hugo hummed, his dark eyes skimming over his written letters before handing it to you. You handed him your text as well, watching as everyone began to exchange their texts.
You watched as the red-head quietly read your text, his gaze seemingly taking apart each and every word. Hugo was by far the most well-versed in the world of writing, and you two spend a lot of time reading and correcting your texts together.
He critiqued a lot, but he also made you improve the most, making you seek him out often to look over your texts.
You two read eachothers writing in silence before he returned the paper, an impressed hum escaping him.
āYou are a fast learner,ā
He praised, making your heart jump. You chuckled sheepishly, handing back his paper as well. You couldnāt help but be sheepishly proud of your product, especially after being praised by someone like Hugo.
āOnly because you helped me so much. Your writing is still the most impressive out of everyone in the clubā¦ā
You muttered, taking one last look at the elegant handwriting on the neat paper, not noticing the faint pink blush on his face. Hugo covered his mouth to hide his smile, clearing his voice as he muttered something under his breath.
āAh⦠thank you, [ ]ā¦ā
You simply smiled, before casting your gaze through the classroom. Your gaze fell onto Bunny, who was simply staring down at the desk, his expression unreadable. It was like he was disassociating, and frankly, you felt concerned.
Ever since you joined the club, you felt as if Bunnyās mental state was worsening more and more. Your eyebrows crinkled at the thought, and you made your way to your childhood friend, sitting down in front of him with your text in hand. As you approached, the white-haired young man perked up, as if surprised that you approached him.
āā¦oh, hey [ ]!ā
Bunny exclaimed, his tone taking on a more cheerful lilt. You frowned at that, not buying it. No matter his tone, his eyes were even duller than before, and it was getting more and more apparent that he was just putting up an act.
Nontheless, you mustered up a smile, handing him your text.
āHey Bunny⦠how was your day?ā
You asked hesitantly, making him freeze up. A moment of silence passed, before he forced out a laugh, leaning in.
āPfftā! Why are you so uptight? You are talking to me like Iām a stranger, [ ]~ā
He said, grinning. You flinched at that, noting the hurt undertone in his voice. You pressed your lips together at that, a feeling of unease spreading through you.
No matter how hard you tried, it always led to this: Bunny seemed to be adamant on pushing you away from his issues, a truth that honestly hurt you more than you would like to admit.
Because Bunny was your friend, one that you had for the longest time, and the thought of him potentially not seeing you in the same light made you uneasy and frustrated.
āNo, itās not that⦠Iām just worried about youā¦ā
āWhaat? About little olā me?ā
Bunny retorted, making you crease your eyebrows. He was dismissing you again. He then skimmed through your text, a flash of hurt flickering through him as he seemingly realised something. Another moment of silence passed, one in which you caught a glimpse of his solemn expression. You gulped.
āBunnyā¦ā
āAhaha,ā
He interupted, handing your text back. He smiled, humming.
āYou improved so much, [ ]⦠you and Hugo have been practicing a lot, huh?ā
He said, and you froze at the saddened expression on his face, one that he was trying to poorly conceal with an empty laugh. You wanted to say something, before you were interupted again.
āIām so happy for you, [ ]. You found so many other friends now,ā
He grit out, not even daring to look into your eyes. They were locked onto the wooden surface of the desk, avoiding your gaze and even your text entirely.
You couldnāt help but bite your lip, only letting out a quiet hum.
āI⦠I guess⦠hey, can I read what you wrote, Bunny?ā
You said, opting to distract the both of you from the weird athmosphere. But that was shot down almost immediately as well, with Bunny taking one look at his own paper before letting out another hollow laugh.
āAhaha⦠the thing is⦠I actually didnāt write anything for todayā¦ā
He sheepishly admitted, making you freeze.
āBunnyā¦ā
āYeah, I⦠forgot about it, s-sorryā¦ā
He stammered out, something that was uncharacteristic for him. You pressed your lips together, a look of concern crossing your face.
āIāis everything okay, Bunny?ā
You asked firmly this time, refusing to dance around the issue any longer. Bunny seemed to notice your intention as well, an uneasy expression flickering across his face.
āWhat do you mean by that, [ ]ā¦?ā
He hesitantly asked, making you squirm in your seat, trying to formulate your concerns into words.
āIā¦I just think that you look a bit under the weather recently, and I donāt know ifāā
ā[ ].ā
Bunnyās firm tone brought you out from your rambling, making you look up to him, noting a small smile settling itself on his face. He took your hand in his, his thumb rubbing soothing circles on the back of your hand.
āIām just a bit tired, okay? I just need to rest for a bit, and frankly, the best way you could help is by⦠acting like everything is normal. Because frankly, it is.ā
He said, making you stop. You mulled over his words for a bit, surprised to see Bunny so⦠serious. You gripped his hand a bit tighter, before a small sigh of defeat escaped you.
āHahā¦I guess you are right. Then⦠Iāll leave you be, okay? Donāt overwork yourself, Bunny.ā
You said, making the small smile on Bunnyās face widen a fraction.
āI will, donāt worry [ ],ā
He said, giving a small wave as you stood up from his desk to go to Kaiser. You felt his eyes on you as you sat down in front of the blonde, an uneasy feeling pooling in your stomach at the prospect of leaving Bunny alone with his thoughts.
ā ā ā
āā¦ā
Kaiser read through your text, humming as he gave it back to you.
āNot bad,ā
He quiped, making you raise an eyebrow.
āIs that all?ā
You mused, which was answered by him shrugging, resting his chin on his hand.
āWell, you didn't seem to be very interested in my text either. You constantly looked over at Bunny, [ ]. It honestly made me a bit angry, you know?ā
He bit back, rendering you without any comebacks, since it was true. You took a deep breath, sinking your head apologetically.
āAhā¦Iām sorry Kaiserā¦ā
You murmured, pressing your lips together.
āItās just⦠I donāt know, donāt you feel like Bunny has been behaving weird lately? He said that he was just tired, but stillā¦ā
You muttered, making Kaiser think for a bit, before shrugging his shoulders.
āWell, at least itās a bit more quiet nowā¦ā
He quiped with a cocky grin, one which was immediately shut down by your warning glare. He then cast a look over at Bunny, before coming back to you.
āListen,ā
He said, sighing.
āSometimes, someone just has a shitty day. Or a shitty week. Everyone has it, and no one can be cheerful and chatty all the time, not even Bunny. Besides, arenāt you guys like⦠best buddies?ā
He asked, slightly cringing at his wording, followed by a slow nod from you. The blonde hummed again, reaching over to flick your forehead.
āSee? I think you should have a bit more faith in your best friend. Besides, I think that Bunny would confide in you if there really was something wrong with him,ā
Kaiser exclaimed, his words etching themselves into your mind. You thought about it, pressing your lips together. Maybe Kaiser was right. Maybe you should trust Bunny more, and his capability to handle some things by himself.
āā¦I mean really, he talked about you constantly before you joined. It was honestly annoying, now that I think about it,ā
Kaiser snorted, running a hand through his blonde hair. You felt a warm feeling pool in your gut at that, a small smile forming on your face at the thought of Bunny rambling about you to the others.
āBut I guess if youāre really worriedā¦ā
Kaiser muttered, catching your attention.
āMaybe our dear president could talk some sense into that overgrown rabbit. As arrogant and pretentious as he is, he is pretty good at talking to people. Comes with being famous, I guess.ā
He said, making you perk up. You turn your head, looking at the club president, who was currently quietly conversing with Hugo at the other end of the classroom.
Loki was admittedly still an enigma to you. You were much closer with all the other club members, and aside from casual small talk, you still did not get to talk to Loki a lot. It was not that you did not like him, it was just that you never really had the need to. But after taking one last look at Bunny, your gut told you that this was the time.
You contemplated for a bit, before shooting a small smile of gratitude at the blonde in front of you.
āThank you, Kaiser,ā
You said, bidding goodbye to him before standing up, going over to Loki and Hugo.
ā ā ā
āUmā¦ā
You still felt nervous, talking so casually to the schoolās football super-star, but you encouraged yourself to do it anyway. You know, for Bunnyās sake.
āLoki? Sorry, but can we⦠talk for a second?ā
You said hesitantly, making the president freeze up, seemingly not really expecting you wanting to talk to him.
āI-it isnāt something bad, just something that has been on my mind for a whileāā
You reassured him, before being interrupted by Loki.
āY-yeah...! I mean, of course, no worries, [ ]. Hugo, can we continue our conversation next time?ā
Loki hastily exclaimed, shooing the red head away before inviting you to sit down in front of him. You gulped, sitting down on the chair, noting that he looked as composed and flawless as always. His golden eyes shone expectantly, urging you to voice your concerns.
āWell, [ ]? Should I give you some insight on your writing, or would you like to read mine? If I had known that you would read my text, I would have put more effort into writing it, ahahaā¦ā
He mused, his voice smooth and comforting, making a part of you immediately calm down. You shook your head, offering a small smile.
āNo, itās not thatā¦ā
You muttered, nodding towards Bunny.
āIām just concerned for Bunnyā¦ā
You said, not noticing how Loki visibly deflated, his shoulders sagging.
āI donāt know⦠I have a feeling that something is wrong, but he wonāt tell me⦠Iām really worried about him.ā
You admitted, not daring to look into Lokiās eyes, feeling a bit embarrassed to go to the club president for that kind of matter. It was like you were a kid again, going to cry to the teacher whenever someone didn't play with you. But before you could even take it back, Lokiās chair scratched against the floor as he stood up.
āā¦I see!ā
He said, letting out a small chuckle.
āAnd you want me to talk to him, correct?ā
He exclaimed, making you gulp.
āā¦! Well, if it isnāt too much troubleāā
āNonsense!ā
Loki said, momentarily leaning in, a mirthful expression crossing his face as he observed you.
āYou are so cute, [ ]⦠of course you arenāt bothering anyone! Donāt worry⦠Iāll fix it for you.ā
He said, and before you could even ask what he meant by that, he was already off, walking towards Bunny. You saw them exchange a few words, before both of them dissappeared outside of the classroom.
You were momentarily frozen in place, not having expected the conversation to go by so⦠fast. It was almost jarring, how efficient and swift Loki was prepared to handle all of this.
But then again, that just goes to show what kind of a good leader Loki really was.
You sighed, a wave of relief flooding you. Loki really was a good president, taking care of everyone so well. You were sure that Bunny is going to be okay soon.
You waited at the desk for a while, just idling around, when another voice cut through the silence.
āDid you talk with Loki?ā
Kaiser appeared behind you, plopping down in Lokiās seat. You nodded.
āGood. I saw them talking to eachother when I came back from the bathroom,ā
The blonde quiped, making you hum in aknowledgement. You felt a small, genuine smile spread over your face, and sighed.
āIām glad⦠maybe I am overreacting, but itās better to be safe than sorry, if Iām being honest. Bunny is my best friend after all, and I wonāt leave him hanging!ā
ā ā ā
Some time passed before Loki entered the room again, with the same confident smile on his face you were familiar with. He gathered you all up at a table, calling for a club meeting.
You interrupted him when noticing someones absence.
āWait⦠where is Bunny?ā
You said, a feeling of dread spreading through you. The others also noticed, eyeing the president, whose smile didnāt falter for a bit.
āā¦ah, I sent him home. He seemed to be under the weather today, so I figured that it would be best if I let him rest.ā
Loki chirped, making the same uncomfortable feeling bubble up inside you. You pressed your lips together.
You had a feeling that this was the wrong decision.
But before you could say anything, Loki was already continuing, demanding your attention.
āWell, aside from that, I would like to remind everyone that the school festival is on monday~ā
He mused, followed by a groan from both Kaiser and Hugo.
āDonāt remind meā¦ā
Kaiser grit out, with Hugo nodding in agreement. Loki laughed, seemingly taking joy in their misery.
āSorry, sorry, but I canāt bend reality~ā
He said in a sing-song voice, chuckling.
āBut there are still some things that need to be done before the festival, aside from just preparing our texts,ā
He exclaimed, turning towards Kaiser.
āKaiser, can you make those Bread rusks again? It would be a nice snack for everyone visiting us.ā
The president said, followed by a begrudged nod after some mumbling, eliciting an amused chuckle from Loki. He then turned to Hugo, nodding.
āAnd I thought that you could be responsible for some interior decorations, Hugo. Donāt worry, Iāll arrange a sizeable budget for you to work with~ā
He said, his honeyed eyes twinkling. Hugo seemed to agree, followed by a raised eyebrow from Kaiser. The blonde crossed his arms, nodding towards the president.
āAnd what would you do for this joint project, your majesty?ā
He mocked, which apparently flew over Lokiās head. He just gave a chuckle, before continuing.
āI will make some pamphletes to hang around the school,ā
He exclaimed, turning to you afterwards.
ā⦠and [ ] will help me with that. I have a press conference for the football association before that, but you can accompany me there for a nice lunch. And after that, we can go to my house later to work on it! I even have a new fireplace installed, so itās really cozyāā
He rambled on, before it was cut off by Kaiser, who gave a sharp glare towards the other.
āReally? Are you fucking serious, Loki?ā
He snarled, crossing his arms.
āYou like, have the easiest job from all of us! Why do you need [ ] to help you?ā
he exclaimed, followed by Hugoās agreement. His black eyes seemed to assess the president harshly, a dissapointed glint in his eyes.
āHeās rightā¦and pulling them along on your fancy media day, are you trying to impress them or something?ā
Hugo quipped, making Loki sputter.
āC-come on, thatās not itāā
āOf course it is! Donāt lie to yourself, you always thought that you were better than us anyway. Honestly, your god-complex is fucking exhausting, even more so now that [ ] joined,ā
Kaiser huffed, glaring at the president. At that, Lokiās eyes seemed to sharpen momentarily, his gaze freezing into a frightening glare. You gulped, not daring to say anything at the thickening of the tension, the temperature of the room dropping by several degrees as Loki and Kaiser seemed to have a staring contest between eachother.
But Kaiser didnāt seem scared by Lokiās gaze, instead seeing it as a challenge. He stepped forward, his blue eyes sharpening.
āā¦you guys also have Bunny to help you, you know. If anything, you are hogging [ ] all for yourself as of late, no?ā
Loki grit out, forcing a razor thin smile to stretch across his face. Kaiser scoffed, growing more and more agitated by the second, his temperament seemingly a ticking timebomb.
āā¦hah! Bunnyā¦? The one you demanded to go home? Oh fuck off, you are just trying to get rid of the competition!ā
āKaiserāā
āHere is a great idea,ā
Hugo interrupted in the last second before Loki could say anything, stepping between the two boys before it could escalate any further. He turned his face, locking eyes with you.
āWhy donāt we let [ ] decide? They are an autonomous human being as well, yes?ā
He remarked, cocking his head in your direction.
This seemed to loosen the athmosphere a bit, both Kaiser and Loki calming down. The latter took a deep breath, before forcing an apologetic smile on his face as he turned towards you.
āā¦Hugoās right. Sorry [ ], I guess we are all just excited to spend some time with you, ahahaā¦ā
He chuckled, the warmth in his golden gaze returning in an instant, like a switch being flipped. You gulped, offering a small smile as well, waving him off.
Lokiās smile didnāt falter though, even widening a fraction as an air of smugness crossed him.
āWell [ ], who would you like to spend the weekend with?ā
Loki.
Loki.
Loki.
Voting ended onJun 14
His smile widened, a bright twinkle in his eyes as a small cheer escaped him.
āYayy! Donāt worry [ ], I promise you that it will be really fun!ā
He said, stepping towards you with a pep in his step. You gulped, feeling Kaiserās and Hugoās gaze on you. The blonde was the first to speak up after a stunned silence, snarling.
āā¦Seriously? You barely have any shit to do!ā
He protested, shaking his head. Hugo was quick to chime in as well, closing his book and glaring at the club president alongside the blonde.
āThatās right. That is unfair, we have so much more to do than youā¦!ā
The red head retorted, but Loki seemed to be ignorant to their troubles. He just shrugged his shoulders, rolling his eyes in annoyance. It was a side that you didnāt knew existed, one that was significantly more petty and childish than his usual mature and charming demeanor.
āWell like I said, you guys still have Bunny to help you with~ā
He shrugged, before focusing entirely on you again, brushing past your uncomfortable form with a smile.
āAnyway [ ], about lunchāā
āAs if Bunny will be of any help! He will just be more depressed when he realises that you stole [ ] from him!ā
Kaiser exclaimed, making you freeze up. Your eyes widened, looking at the blondeās expression. Because beneath the frustration, you could see genuine concern dancing in his eyes. It was a rare sight, and one that shook you to your core.
You gulped, your palms suddenly growing sweaty.
You knew it. There was something more to Bunny than you originally thought.
"...[ ]? Don't listen to him, he just spouting nonsense to have you for himselfā"
Loki couldn't even finish before you took action.
Gathering your courrage, you took a deep breath, moving to swiftly grab your bag from the windowsill.
āā¦! W-wait, [ ]?ā
Loki sputtered, watching frantically after you as you gathered your things. You shot an apologetic smile towards the club president, before nodding towards Kaiser and Hugo.
āSorry Lokiā¦I changed my mind. I⦠I think that I will check on Bunny now. As for the festival preparationā¦ā
You mulled things over, before coming to a conclusion.
āThere are two days in a weekend, right? I can help Hugo on Saturday and Kaiser on Sunday, so that everyone can get their work done.ā
You said, missing the croaked out ābut what about me-ā from Loki, before dashing out, proclaiming that you would text Hugo and Kaiser later, leaving the three of them alone as you made your way towards your childhood friend.
The room was silent when you left it.
ā ā ā
You didnāt realise that you walked quite a distance to your school, judging from the loss of air in your lungs after you practically sprinted to Bunnyās house.
You rang the bell, the noise of the electrical chime piercing through the silence. After ringing it for a few tmes, you grew frustrated, motioning you to fish out the emergency key from behing the fence.
You entered his front porch, gulping as you hesitated entering his actual home.
You remembered a time where you frequented his house pretty often when you were kids. This frequency decreased when you two grew older, a thing that you now regretted.
And something you were determined to fix.
Luckily, the front door was open, and you stepped inside, looking at all the small changes that occured as time passed. But you didnāt have time to dwell on them, ascending the stairs to the second floor.
Reaching Bunnyās room, you took a deep breath before knocking.
āā¦Bunny? We need to talk,ā
You softly urged, hearing soft rustling coming from his room. There was some hesitation before the door eventually opened, revealing your childhood friend.
A huge sigh of relief left you at that.
ā[ ]ā¦?ā
Bunny muttered, concern dancing through his eyes as he saw you in front of his door. You smiled, holding back your emotions.
āBunnyā¦ā
You whispered, before going on your tippy-toes, pulling him into a hug. You felt his breath hitch, his arms trembling as they struggled to remain at his sides.
ā[ ]⦠what are you doing hereā¦? You were supposed to have fun with your new friendsā¦ā
He muttered, making a scoff escape you. You squeezed him closer to you, shaking your head.
āAs if⦠I wanted to be with my best friend. You are far more important.ā
You say, noting the stiffening of Bunnyās form. A moment of silence passed, before an empty chuckle escaped him, one that was hollow and defeated, making your heart squeeze.
āC-come on, [ ]⦠the others are way more funā¦I'māā
āI donāt care!ā
You interrupted him, lifting your head to look into his eyes. They were dull and tired, and you could make out some eyebags. You frowned: god, you were so stupid. All these dark jokes, all the dismissals⦠how could you have been so blind?
You were angry at yourself, gritting your teeth. But you forced yourself to remain level-headed, taking a deep breath before continuing.
āWell, noā I do care, Bunny. I care so much. You are so important to me, itāsāā
ā[ ].ā
Bunny smiled, cupping your face. It was a smile that crumbled soon after though, growing wobbly the longer he looked at you.
āBut I donāt want you to.ā
A moment of silence passed. You blink owlishly.
āWhatā¦?ā
āItās true. I donāt want you to care for me. There is nothing worth saving. That⦠childhood friend you cling onto⦠is no longer there, [ ]ā
He muttered, averting his eyes like he was shameful of himself. That action alone made you crease your eyebrows together, pressing your lips together.
āOr actually, it never was there in the first place,ā
He croaked out, trembling slightly. He didnāt even dare to look at you as he said the next sentence.
āThe truth is, that I always had horrible depression all my life. Even after I got adopted and got a new home, it⦠just wouldnāt go away,ā
Bunny confessed, blinking away the tears spilling over his eyes, seemingly remembering a dark memory. He looked through the hallway, his gaze flickering through the framed pictures of him and his adoptive father. They were numerous pictures of the many trips they made, from a roadtrip through Spain to a vacation in Japan.
āEven though I have all of⦠this now. Iām fine now, I have such a good life, but stillā¦! It just wouldnāt go away, [ ]. Each day I still struggle with getting out of bed. To even exist.ā
He bit his lip, preventing a sob from escaping him. You frowned; the reason he was late to school everyday was⦠because of this?
āDoesnāt this mean that Iām a horrible person? After all, only a despicable person like me could be so ungrateful for these things, for all these efforts, right?ā
He locked his eyes with you again, the dull color of his red hues making you stop.
āSee? Thatās the look. That dissapointed look when you see that Iām not worth the trouble. Lok-everyone was right. I will just drag you down with me if you continue to care for me.ā
He said, making you shake your head almost immediately. You pulled him towards you, trying to convince him from the opposite. It was frantic and uncoordinated, but you were growing desperate.
āBut I want to! Iā¦I want to do that for you, nothing has to change! You will not drag me down, nor will I leave you behind, I believe in us!ā
You said, earning a shocked blink from Bunny at your dedication. You smiled reassuringly.
āWe are best friends, Bunny. And that will never change, I will never see you as anything else but thatāā
You said, but before you could continue, you were taken aback at the sight of tears spilling over his dull eyes, rendering you speechless. A silent beat passed, only interrupted by the others sniffles. You never saw Bunny cry. Seeing it for the first time made you freeze up instantly.
āJust like it always was, huhā¦?ā
He whispered between sobs, pressing his lips together. He tried to muster up a smile, to no avail. The gesture crumbled apart almost instantly.
āFuck⦠I really am a horrible person. Having someone like you care for me, and still not being satisfiedā¦ā
Bunny wiped his tears away with the back of his hand, although it couldnāt help the new ones from falling. You were hesitant, before reaching out to grab his shoulder.
āWhat-what are you sayingā¦?ā
You said, making even more sobs escape him. He let out another laugh, his entire form seemingly losing stability. You swiftly moved him to his bed, ignoring the mess inside his dimmed out room.
āI should be happy that you found new friendsā¦ā
Bunny muttered, burrying his face in his hands, not letting you see his expression. Out of shame or fear, you didnāt know.
āBut instead⦠it just hurts so much. So fucking much.ā
He said, letting out a shaky breath. You stiffened, moving to embrace him. He didnāt reciprocate, but you didnāt need him to. He sobbed more as he melted into your embrace, muttering curse words and profanities at himself for accepting your affections.
āā¦But it also hurts when you care for me. I donāt understand,ā
He whispered into the fabric of your uniform.
āI hate it, [ ]. I hate that I love you so much, [ ].ā
He confessed, detaching himself before you could register his words. He hugged his knees, his face fallen in sheer exhaustion. You noticed that he didnāt bother to hide it anymore, instead looking at you with his dull gaze, awaiting your reaction.
You watch as a small smile appeared on his face, carefully inspecting your surprised expression.
āWell? Is this enough to deter you? The fact that someone like me is hopelessly in love with you, to the point that I even regret introducing you to new people?ā
He croaked out, making you hitch a breath. You carefully mulled over your words, before you shook your head, a firm look crossing your face.
āYou may think of yourself as a horrible person, but I do not,ā
You say, feeling your cheeks burning up.
āAs a matter of fact, I feel very flattered that someone like you likes me,ā
You say, scratching the back of your head. In all honesty, you have never seen Bunny as anything more than your ditzy best friend. But you also couldnāt lie that you saw him in a different light now, after you two began to spend so much time together at the literature clubā wether or not this was romantic or not wasnāt important right now.
Bunny blinked, a look of fear and anticipation crossing his face as he studied your flushed face.
āThenā¦ā
āBut a romantic relationship is not what you need right now,ā
You retorted, shaking your head. You mustered up a smile, reaching for his hand, squeezing it.
āWhat you need right now, is help. And I want to help you with that because I do like you, Bunny. A lot. And when you get that help, and are in a better place mentallyā¦ā
You locked your eyes with him, noting a small flicker of something else crossing his face. You wished that that something was hope.
āWe can have this relationship talk again, yeah?ā
You smiled, embracing him.
And after a while, he embraced you too. You smiled, feeling a warm feeling spread across your chest.
Yes. Everything will be okay.
Authors note: I hate it. I managed to play around with the voting poll so you would pick my route, but the author still refuses to see me as a love interest. Instead, you fell into that overgrown rabbitās route. No offense, but he isnāt even that interesting. But donāt worry, I will get our happy ending no matter what! It just seems like I have to resort to more⦠extreme meassures, Iām sorry darling⦠:)

vivien hugo believes everyone's destiny is determined with reason, and yet, he finds himself tampering with fate itself just to see you happy.
a/n: squint and the pie is basically a bday cake... childhood crush trope idk man
The class is very clearly excitedā and that's to nobody's surprise, it is the long awaited Pie Day today after all!
A day to celebrate the Twelfth Night after Christmas, but more importantly, to the young and elated children, it's a means of acquiring the status of royalty for the day!
Hugo's blank gaze filters around the classroom with mild intrigue, before it naturally lands on you beside him once more, a habit he's developed awhile back and not yet grown out of.
For as long as he can remember, you've always been a sight for sore eyes.
Warm and shining as you smile, dressed in bright colours that make it hard for him to look away even if your radiance is blinding to his eyes.
You're as pretty as a flower, he thinks, definitely prettier though. And Hugo is a lot like a butterfly, drawn to your devastating sweetness in a way he can't explain with logic.
Hugo doesn't remember the last time he found anything quite as pretty as you, there's even a part of him that thinks he'll never see such a wonderful sight again, but he's not really against it, not when he's more than happy to have your laughter occupy all of his thoughts.
Which is why, he's caught off guard when he doesn't hear the sweet sound of your mirth, but rather, the noise of your deafening silence.
Hugo watches you for a good moment, your slice of pie is left both half eaten and half forgotten in front of you as you squirm in your seat with restlessness. Your attention is completely stolen away, and curious to see what's got you so bothered, Hugo follows your gaze, quickly noticing the cause of your distraction.
It's the kids around you, namely the three who have found the little trinkets in their slices. One's showing hers off to those around her with a proud grin, another is in the middle of being crowned the king of the day, and the last one has their hand up high, fĆØve in the other as they wave the teacher over to show them their find.
The fourth and final figure is in his slice, a discovery that has still yet to be told to the teachers, for the thought of being crowned the king of the day has never excited him much.
That's all the figures, Hugo notes without blinking, glancing back at you like natural instinct, yourself far more interesting than anything else this world had to offer.
The act of finding the little trinkets has always believed to be luck or fortune, though Hugo thinks it's the work fate that decides the results. And fate, is something that is never meant to be altered under any circumstances.
Butā¦
But after seeing your painfully gutting expression ā lips wobbling and eyes glazing with unleashed tears, the hope in your eyes slowly fading away, only to be replaced with envy as you tried to collect your shaky breath of disappointment ā he finds himself doing something he's never done before.
Vivien Hugo goes against his principles.
The act is inconceivable, he can't believe he's doing something like this, but he has to!
You were about to cry!
And the mere thought of it has his stomach lurch, urging him into motion.
He's reaching out for the little figure in his plate before he can think, and discretely, without alerting you, he's placing it onto your plate.
It's yours now, he thinks after a quiet moment, breath caught in his throat as he replays what he's done. He's changed fateā tampered with it! Hugo has gone against his ideology, something he believes in like the gospel, because it is his faith, it is his religion.
Yet, despite its absoluteness, look at what he has done! The boy has done something so terribly wrong! And he's done it all for youā hoping, praying, that you wouldn't cry.
"M-Miss, sniff, I, I found itā¦!"
The turmoil that is his thoughts come to a sudden pause when he hears you speak. Your voice is soft, it rings like a sweet lullaby, a noise that has bewitched the boy entirely, his soul and his body.
"That's the last one!" The teacher cheers, a paper crown in her hand as she approaches you.
Hugo's gaze is drawn to you once more, and he watches you from the corner of his eyes, his body frozen still as you bop your head, the tufts of your hair bouncing along.
Your earlier sadness is now nowhere to be found, and relief is quick to bloom within him. At least you no longer look you're about to cry. But the relief is short lived, for what you do next knocks the wind out of him.
You hold the little trinket delicately in your hands, bringing it closer towards you to place a gentle kiss on it ā an act of reverence he never would have thought he'd receive form you.
Heat is quick to blossom against his pale cheeks, his eyes growing wide with disbelief as you let out a small titter, one he will most likely play in his mind whenever he has nightmares in the futureā because there is nothing quite as pure and comforting as that sound.
The crown is crooked on your head, but it suits you perfectly. And your smile is even more crooked, but it charms him nevertheless. For your happiness is incandescent like that of the sun's, the kind of warmth he's enamoured by.
Hugo can't stop staring at you, he doesn't even blink, fearing that he will miss even a small moment of your radiant beauty otherwise.
"Vivi!
You sing like a hymn as you address him, and he's positive that there are flowers blooming around you when you proudly hold the figure with careful hands. "You have to listen to everything I say now, hehe!"
"Uh, yeahā¦" He responds to you like a man possessed, guiding your hand with upmost devotion to his pursed lips so he can place a gentle kiss on it. "Yes, your majesty."
You don't even need to be royalty, he thinks, and still, a thousand times over, he will do whatever it is you wish.
Even if it is at the cost of tampering with fate, Hugo has come to the terrifying realisation that he will do it all just to see you smile.
im dead this was supposed to be bday fic but uh... i lwk find those boring to write... thought this idea was cute and had it for a while, its pies which is kind of like cakes? yhhh idekkk

context: meeting Loki unexpectedly after a race
you sat on the bench, the fabric of your clothing sucking in the dampness of the wood, taking short huffs as your legs felt like a sponge that's drowned in water
ā
ā"Tired?" a voice snapped you away from your thoughts
ā
ā"Yeah, and you are?" scooting yourself an inch away from him
ā
ā"You don't know?" a slow knowing smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth, his voice dripping with amusement
ā
ā"you're literally meeting the god of speed himself," he pauses "and you greet me with, 'you are?'" he chuckles, the one filled with absolute warmth , clearly not taking you seriously
ā
āyou scoffed with a smirk in return, rolling your eyes "It's probably because I don't know you yet"
ā
ā"Then you probably live under a rock" he countered smoothly, "no offense," this interaction is clearly making him entertained, and what's more is that your speed is luring him in slowly
ā
ā"None taken, you race?"
ā
ā"mm, no," he chuckles, gazing at you again in disbelief "you don't really know?"
ā
ā"No , idiot." nudging his arm with a brief warm laugh "I don't watch football"
ā
āa half snicker , and a half laugh bursts from his chest "I never told you I was a footballer"
ā
ā"okay, maybe I watched some matches where they briefly showed your face, but that's it" you countered, the embarrassment getting to you "I don't even know your name."

Vivien Hugo was a scheming little bastard; a sick fuck who got anything he wanted from you through underhanded means.
And right now, well, right now he wanted you to spit in his mouth.
He could care less if it was dirty or crude like everyone whined about it being, he just wanted you to spit in his mouth, sticky and wet and roughā Hugo wanted it bad.
Like reaaally bad.
Which was why, he'd been hunched over his desk with his infamous 'self-reading' book, concocting the most heinous and morally reprehensible plan known to man ā one that certainly would put the devil's wits to shame with its wickedness ā and all this meticulous and diligent effort just because he wanted you to slob all over him.
Of course, it went without having to say that you, cute and oblivious, would be none the wiser to his beguiled intentions.
And that was perfect.
It was just so perfect that you were the sweet soul you were, with the gentlest and most compassionate heart to boot, because that just meant he could easily achieve his goal.
Fuck, Hugo knew it was cruel to take advantage of your selfless kindness. But Godā he was a man, every man had to take care of his selfish desires once in a while, right?
There was nothing inherently wrong with somebody fulfilling their sexual fantasies, right?
"Vivienā¦" Your voice stretched painfully, thin with feeble urgency. "Would you please, at the very least, look my way?"
You've been at this for a long while now, trying to catch his otherwise easily obtainable attention. Though, unfortunately, your great efforts to give him his evening dose of medication has been futileā in complete and utter vain.
"Please"
Alas, even when you begged so desperately and ardently for his regard, tone trembling with defeat and heartbreak, Hugo seemed adamant on refusing to meet your gaze, his back turned to you as he lay on your shared bed in deep need of 'rest' to improve his feverish health.
"My love..? Sweet angel?" You called out sweetly, hope hanging on by a thin thread as you tried to peek over his shoulder to get a sight of his concealed expression. "Vivi..?"
But again, he merely returned your concern with deafening silence, a noise that had your stomach lurch in itself.
"Have Iā¦" Your hand hovered unsurely over him, before landing softly on his arm with the weight of a feather. "Have I done something to hurt youā¦?"
Oh, if only you knew the effect your words had on him right now.
It took every fucking cell in his body not to fold under your calls, and it took an even greater amount of self control to physically hold himself back from pulling you into his proximity. You were just so fucking adorable, weren't you? Trying to manipulate him with your sweet little words.
But Hugo needed to remain steadfast on his goal, there were greater benefits he could reap if he just remained patient and focusedā
"If you don't drink the medicine, youā you're going to be even more ill, y'know?!"
And look at you now, trying to take charge despite the worried tremble in your voice. Once he got to you spit in his mouth, Hugo promised to return the favour tenfold.
"Don't want itā¦" He rasped, voice dry from having forced himself to scream earlier in the day so he could appear ill in front of you.
See, the thing with Hugo was that he was always thorough whenever he wanted something. It was a bad habit he had, because what fool intentionally let themselves be drenched in the rain to catch a fever just so they could be pampered with the warmth of their lover?
Only down-bad Mr. Hugo apparently.
"Why?" Despite your praise-worthy patience, your frustrations were beginning to bleed through your countenance.
And whilst other men would've seen this as a bothersome trait for their lover to have, Hugo could only clench his toes with unbridled excitement for what was to come.
"Cuz it tastes baaaad." He whined monotonously, making sure to drawl out each word like Charles did to Loki whenever he wanted to get out of training. It always ended with the former getting his ass handed to him by the latter, and smitten old Hugo wanted exactly that from you.
"Because it tastes bad?" Your eye twitched, clearly unamused with his petulant antics. "Vivien, stop being childish and just drink it already. Here."
"Nope." He made sure to pop the 'p' whilst refusing you with a boyish head-shake.
"Vivien." You called, voice clipped with poorly concealed irritation.
"Did you not hear me?" He retorted with sass, not particularly looking for an answer from you but rather a reaction. "I said I didn't want it."
"Please don't make this harder than it needs to beā"
"Don't. Want. It." He cut you off, enunciating each word with jarring impertinence.
Any moment now, and you were sure to lose it.
"ā¦."
Silence ensued following his snarky comment, and Hugo wondered if he dug deep enough with his childish behaviour. But with the way you remained unmoving behind him, the weight of your hand on his arm faint in its presence, maybe that wasn't the case..?
"Vivien." You spat coldly, his name falling out of your mouth with veiled threat.
The sound was almost music to his ears, sending a kaleidoscopes of butterflies to his stomach and spiking his adrenaline into a frenzy of anticipation.
You spared no further moment, roughly grabbing his arm to pull him towards you and onto his back. He let out a noise of surprise from the sudden movement, but other than that, remained pathetically pliant as you threw a leg over his torso to trap him in place.
Then, with aggression you never knew existed within you, you forced his arms down onto the mattress and out of the way whilst the other hand held a spoon with the godforsaken medicine he refused to consume. You tried to nudge the spoon towards his mouth, but much to your dismay, he bit his lips shut to prevent you from succeeding.
"Open your fucking mouth."
Hugo damn nearly came in his pants from your sudden assertion, your furrowed expression not helping his growing situation.
"Tchā" you tutted under your breath, irate clawing up your throat when he remained unaffected with your imperative. "I said, open."
Bringing the spoon to your mouth, you quickly pouched a spoonful of the bitter medicine, before throwing the utensil across the room to God-knows-where. Not that you caredā not when you were too busy using your free hand to squeeze his cheeks together and forcibly pry his tight-lipped mouth open.
If he wouldn't consume the medicine like a normal person would, then you simply had no choice but to administer the panacea through unorthodox means.
And clearly, he wasn't against the idea, seeing as how he eagerly lifted his head up to meet your lips halfway.
You were mildly surprised with his abrupt compliance, but ultimately chose not to dwell on the thought for too long. Feeding him the medicine ā forcibly and through mouth to mouth contact ā took precedence over anything else.
Shutting your eyes close, you pushed the liquid you'd been pouching into his mouth, an action only possible with the way he hallowed his cheeks and very greedily welcomed the invasion of your tongue.
Finally, you got him to take the fucking medicine.
But before you could even revel in the joy of your success, Hugo's arm, now free from the confines of your hand, snaked around your waist and pulled you back into his proximity, a preventative measure prohibiting you from escape.
His hand wandered with intrigue over the arch of your waist, teasing the hemline of your shorts and lingering on the swell of your ass, before it quickly fell victim to innate desire and grabbed a handful of it. The action pulled a muffled yelp out of you, one that was happily swallowed by the man beneath you who groped at the flesh of your ass with fervour.
Hugo sucked on your tongue, ardent and desperate, his lust-glazed eyes growing half-lidded and hazy with twisted pleasure as he took in your contorting expression.
"Vivi, wait-! nghā!"
You tried pull away, but Hugo chased after your retreating figure like a man possessed. And he wasā Hugo could admit, without any shame or embarrassment, that he was hopelessly infatuated with you.
Ears flushing a pretty shade of red comparable to his hair, his hand wandered again, this time going beneath your shirt and tracing the dip of your spine whilst the other clamped around your neck to push you further down onto him.
You would've thought he was trying to fuse the two of you together, and maybe he was with how he was unwilling to detach himself from your lips.
"Mhmā!"
Whilst he would've loved to hear every bit of what your pleasure-induced self had to say, Hugo couldn't afford it this time. He didn't want you off of him, not under any circumstance. Even if it meant having to regrettably sacrifice hearing every one of your cute little mewls.
He shoved his tongue down your wet cavern, and with it, came the bitter taste of medicine. It was then, at that exact moment, that you realised what he was trying doing. He'd been pouching the medicine himself, and now, was quite literally returning to you what you were previously trying to shove down his throat!
The realisation filled you with vigour, urging your hands to push against his shoulders, an attempt to create some much needed distance between the two of you. Like he'd done before, Hugo tried to pursue your fleeing figure again, his teeth softly grazing your bottom lip with reverence, a desperate plea for more, but you pulled back with a furious expression.
A thin strand of saliva lewdly connected the both of you as you landed heavily on his crotch that was now housing a very grown problem.
"Hahā¦" He let out a soft whimper from the jolt of pleasure the sudden force of your weight sent across his navel, his lashes fluttering shut as heat grew like fire between his legs.
You didn't let the opportunity go to waste, not when he finally had his mouth opened for you, tongue sticking out like this had been his plan from the very beginning.
And it was.
One glance at his kiss drunken eyes and you could practically read his thoughts aloud.
Spit in my mouth. Spit in my mouth, Spit in it, please. Please, spit in my mouth.
What sort of doctor would you be, refusing your patient's most ardent wishes?
A bad one.
Gathering your spit in your mouth, you grabbed his chin and angled his head towards you, paying no mind to his breathless state as you spat out the wad of medicine onto his awaiting tongue, the mixture diluted with both of your salivaā probably containing no more beneficial components now that it had been contaminated with human spit.
"Twuh!"
And you watched, a pit of delight growing within you as his face contorted with pleasure. A soft noise of bliss leaving him in tandem as he quickly swallowed the sticky mess you'd both created.
"Now I'm going to be ill because of you." You huffed, no real bite to your complaint as you brought the back of your hand to wipe your mouth clean.
"I'll just⦠feed you the medicineā¦" He let out a shaky breath, dick aching for release beneath your heat.
There was also a reason why Hugo bought this specific brand of medicine rather than the less bitter ones, so that it could only be given through special means.
"You sick fuckā¦"
And what of it?
Hugo always got what he wanted in the end, he was a sick bastard after all.
