If your happiness only depends on positive happenings, you might not be happy that often, because a lot of shit happens as well. Better to base our happiness on more stable factors, such as the constant beauty of nature, the energy of positive vibes and being a good friend to ourselves and others.

The older I get, the more I realize the value of privacy, of cultivating your circle and only letting certain people in. You can be open, honest, and real while still understanding not everyone deserves a seat at the table of your life.

I think the best writing comes out of people who are morbidly sad. Not because they have learned the hard way that happiness doesn’t come easy. But because those who are sad are usually the most beautiful of people.
