They all have blue eyes... but they look black most of the time because it's dark blue

I have a hc that the reason their eyes "turn" more light blue when they feel intense (usually negative) emotions is because the third eyelid gets activated. (It's translucent apparently?) Maybe their duck instinct thinks they're definitely about to fight so it automatically protects the eye from potential damage (duck biology stuff)

Now, would that mean that Kildare has light blue eyes 24/7 (except some stories 👀) because he's constantly feeling intense emotions so his fight or flight instinct is ALWAYS on?

I jokingly quipped I'd personally be more excited if Kildare Coot showed up.
