I appreciate the direction of trying something else and a different iconic marvel writer, but this is like the most impressively boring direction they could’ve possible gone in. Like do they really think A Christmas Carol with Uncle Scrooge like Scrooge from A Christmas Carol hasn’t been done to death already? We get one of these every five years! They literally translated and published the Martina version into English too, and you’re hardly ever beating that.
I’m. Not saying I’m not finding this interesting, because like I am very curious in a slightly masochistic way lmfao. But also like be for real me. What are the chances that this is going to be doing something new and original that one can’t get from one of the many previous grande parodie or other stories that adapted elements from it? Right, the chances aren’t supremely high up. But I just can’t help but wonder what it’ll be like yknow… More action heavy marvel, trying to imitate Italian writing, how straightforward is the adaptation, how far does the parody element go, I can’t help myself. I don’t want to keep coming back with such a huge interest in this slop and yet I do. I am but a mindless fish drowning in bait, not realizing I could be free in the sea, and that I wasn’t drowning at all. Oh deary dear me.
Also I can’t stand them calling these gag length stories epic. Stop doing that. The word “epic” had become meaningless to me before my age hit the double digits. Do not even try to think it has any effect in manipulating the slumbering subconscious of my stupid brain.
