♢ F/O who takes a little plushie of S/I everywhere with them. If they can't afford an official one, they make it themselves! Plus tiny little clothes for the plushie, maybe even ones that match their own outfits <3

♢ F/O who can't fall asleep without imagining that S/I is laying besides them. Cuddling their pillow, imagining it's S/I

♢ F/O who saves up for MONTHS to pull for S/I's card. Is in the worst mood for days if they don't get it

♢ F/O whose family or friends know all about S/I and whatever media they're from, just from how much they talk about it. Or maybe they're too embarrassed to say anything, but their love for S/I is just so strong, everyone still notices — the way they constantly doodle this one specific character, the way their eyes light up every time S/I is mentioned...

♢ F/O who gets extremely defensive when someone mischaracterizes S/I, but also equally as mad if anyone ever claims to understand S/I's character the best. No one knows S/I better than them.

fictional characters do have stories and personalities , however - they’re a character which may be interpreted differently by different people . you may see a character in a way others may not . headcanons and aus exist for a reason . people make them to showcase their vision of the characters or plot , maybe turn it into something more appealing or meaningful for them . it’s completely normal to see characters differently than they’re portrayed most of the time .

there’s also ( presumably ) no canon info on how the character would see you or your self insert , we do not how they would ACTUALLY act towards you . so i don’t think any interaction between them would not be mischaracterisation , it would be just adding more depth and detail to your f/o and how they interact with someone , and that someone is you !

and let’s not forget how many people selfship for fun or as a coping mechanism . if you want to have fun , then you’re free to imagine whatever you want , even if this makes a character act differently than in canon . don’t let anyone take away this fun from you . and as a coping mechanism ? you’re also free to do whatever . it’s about your own comfort .

that cutesy soft character ? they would gladly go on a metal band concert with you .

that tough knight character would love to bake pink strawberry cookies with you .

this villain would have a soft spot for you in their heart .
