Before I yap, I just want to say - THANK U SO MUCH!! I'm really glad you want to know more about Jing and Ash's lore <33- I plan to share MORE OC lore/artwork on here and have way too much lore to fit into one post. BUTT, I can share their backstory more in-depth, hehe ;3

“Jing first met Ash in a multilateral exercise, but didn’t really talk to them on a personal level until later, when Ash approached her first. As they were talking, Ash mentioned his hometown (which is now part of WRO’s territory). Jing misunderstood and immediately jumped him, thinking he was a potential spy - Ash tries to explain himself, but she tells them they need to fuck off before storming off. Later on, Jing did apologize for jumping him like that, and somehow became friends

Ash likes to take Jing to beaches since she likes it a lot, and so does Ash :3, it's their secondary rest place outside of their home whenever they aren't on their military duty.

「Validation is the first step towards healing.」

I’ve been watching The Glory for the 3rd time, but this is the most I’ve ever cried watching it, esp during later episodes and the high school flashback scene before the mc Moon Dong-eun goes through things she didn’t deserve. Though her experiences were different from mine, the topics this show explores—what it’s like to carry scars from long ago—deeply resonated with me, and seemed to validate my own wounds.

The series addresses school violence, but rather than dwelling on that very moment, it portrays how the pain still lingers years later, how you still feel anger and shame. I believe it can be so especially if that wound was invalidated at the time and never got the chance to heal. I felt bad for Dong-eun for being unable to forget the events, not just bc the wound was too deep but also there was no one to listen to her, and she couldn’t let go of the truth until someone did finally listen. Her revenge as a fictional element (setting aside some plot parts like crime, upper classes and love triangles which were added for entertainment value but distracted from the theme) was not only a manifestation of justice, but also a way of acknowledging that the pain was valid and therefore giving yourself a voice and initiative.
