Another day of being in this godforsaken restaurant. If he didn’t work there he would love the place, the food is pretty good but he’s washing dishes of people who barely halfway finish their food. He hates when people waste food, what’s the point of coming here, only eating a quarter of what you ordered and not getting a to-go box? Miles will never understand the gluttonous. He scrubs a little bit faster so he can go on break sooner. 

Draping a rag over his shoulder he goes outside to the back of the restaurant, waiters and other staff chain-smoke and scroll on their phone. He’s not smoking but he also joins in on staring at the screen in his hand. Miles thinks about Hyuna, she’s made herself a regular at the joint and Miles likes it a little, a familiar person he can talk to when his shift ends. 

[ kkt ] hey noona ^^ [ kkt ] are u comin to the restaurant tonite

Hyuna had already found her seating and ordered a new appetizer, unsure if she was in the mood to actually try something new. Once she ordered the small portion with her usual drink, she relaxed back against her booth seat. Her fingers quickly moving across the screen as she played a game. It was interrupted by the small notification that slid down from the top of her screen. Exiting the game, she slide her fingers back to open the message, glancing around after she read the message.

Was he there or not? Her thoughts were stopped as her starter was brought to her table, the smell already making he regret ordering it, but still, she needed to give it a chance. Right? No, not really because she could just give it to someone else, but she at least had to be sure it tasted like it smelled. Bad. Before answering the message, she took a small bite and regretted it immediately. Grimacing, she struggled to focus on replying but did her best while she chewed.

[ kkt ] I’m currently dying inside right now. 

Wren’s eyes found hers, he could see the concern in them. “I have to do this. I don’t now what else i should do, i can’t just stand by and watch… He’s my brother and the man who’s suppose to be his father is abusing that title to the fullest, in every possible way.”,

Her lips rolled in, she knew all too well of how a family could truly be behind closed doors. She knew that she had no right to stop him, but there definitely had to be a better way to go about it. Sighing, Hyuna shook her head slowly, “Let’s think of something else, okay? If anything happened to you, who else is going to watch out for your brother?”

      Baq had no clue as how nor why they were even in this place, the raven can’t even recall the reason they ended up here at all. Initially, he was on a vacation here in Korea. He decided to widen his knowledge and get out more. He had heard of famous pet stores or care takers around this area but, one thing led to another–

And now the raven was undoubtedly lost… Well, the blame wasn’t entirely his, he could very well also let the blame be shared with his companion Bibingka, the cute little forest turtle he is.

One moment Bibingka was at his pocket, next thing he knew the little guy was missing. Baq had no clue as to how Bibingka walked so fast to this place but now, they were stuck here along with a stranger.

“So uh…” Baq started, holding Bibingka close to his chest as he turned to look at the girl.

“English?” He inquired, hoping the other would be able to communicate with him because god knows they both needed to get out of here… Hopefully, they’ll be able to get out at the exact moment when the rain outside stops.

Hyuna was in a situation that most normal people don’t find themselves in unless they go looking for it. Yet, here she was, trapped in a sense because of the rain, in some building that she doesn’t recall seeing before today. 

She thought she was alone until she realized she needed to turn off her headphone, once she did the other’s presence was immediate. Turning to bow her head, his brief word caught her off guard, but she was quick to catch on. English, that would be their common ground here, Hyuna looked back towards him with a gentle smile. Nodding her head slowly. her Korean accent thick when she spoke English,” Yes? Are you lost?”

“I think the puppy really loves your company…seeing how she always pees happily next to your feet,” Yao Zu attempts to stifle a laugh, holding the black puppy in his lap securely.

Clicking her tongue quietly, Hyuna knew that ‘happy pee’ was quite common since she use to be a professional dog trainer, but didn’t mean she liked it any more than the next person. Shifting her eyes slowly back to meet the dog’s eyes, she spoke quietly to it,” You pee on me again and I’m giving all your treats away.”

Hyuna’s brow arched slightly with a soft chuckle leaving her,” Really? How on earth are you going to handle all the fun Halloween parties? You going to make me go alone?” 

He takes his phone back with a smile, sticking it in his pocket. “That’s a bit, odd? “ He laughs “It’s like you are a princess who needs to be escorted and watched at all times.” he sticks his hands in his pockets and looks over at her staff that were giving him looks. He figured he should probably let her go and he should meet up with his crew back at the studio. “ I’m not busy at all. This was main event we had and now I have no schedules for a little bit. I really don’t mind.” He starts to walk backwards, holding onto his bag straps. “I’ll  see you around” He says his goodbyes with a slight wave before walking away unable to stop himself from smiling.

He was a bit taken aback by how excited she got and how bright her smile was. This could be fun? He questioned himself then handed his phone over to her after unlocking it and bringing up the contact list. “ Trying to run away from your…uh….” He stopped mid sentence not knowing how to word what he was going to say in Korean. “uhh.. your people” He finished in English with a satisfied look.  “It’s uncomfortable?” He also adds continuing English.

He kissed his teeth at her teasing then let out a soft chuckle. “They weren’t crushed not one bit.” He did a little dance move then stopped when he acknowledged her staff then came her question. Was it okay to hangout? He wasn’t sure how her reputation was or her standing in status. He didn’t want to be a burden to her if her status was high. He thought of every excuse but he couldn’t refuse her offer. What was wrong with being just friends? They are both older and have matured a lot. “Yeah, I don’t mind…You will need someone to keep you from getting lost here.” He teased lightly.

He covered his mouth as he laughed when she mentioned that she didn’t even notice it was him. But– she had a feeling? Why does he feels comfortable all of sudden. “What if I said don’t turn around and leave We were so happy, once. If young love is destined to be separated… should I have waited to tell you?” is what his thoughts spoke to him.  He realized that he was speaking in a language she couldn’t fully understand so he switched to Korean. “ahh, I see…You being here is crazy? I would of never thought..” His korean wasn’t as good as it used to be so it was off.

It’s been a while since he seen her. He came out to china because he felt homesick and lonely back in korea even though he had family there but his comfort zone and the place he needed to be was here in China. “Mhmmm” he chuckles softly and pushes his hair back out of his face and places his hat on backwards. That’s one thing hasn’t changed. He still has a love hats.

He gave her a small smile but it wasn’t forced or fake. “Thank you.” he motioned with his head for her to follow him. He fixed his backpack on his back leading her down the hallway. He greeted a few of the staff and stopped at the entrance to the venue to ask about the wear abouts of Hyuna’s staff. They told him that group from Korea was looking for a Model girl and they ended going to the other wing of the venue. “Your people are over there” He spoke in mandarin to her out of habit because he’s not used to using Korean so often.

It was quiet walking with her across the venue so he figured he would say something. Anything. “ So..why are you here?” he scratched the back of his neck, actually curious as to why she is here.

She couldn’t find many words to speak, she was too busy trying to figure out how to speak to him. Apart of her wanted to at least hug him, tell him that she missed him and another part wanted to show him that she was just as fine as he was putting out. When he spoke to her in mandarin again, she rolled her lips in, smiling faintly as she followed along. The air felt dry to her like her voice was scratching against her throat. 

Damn. Hurt was a real bitch when it showed its ugly face. It’s long lanky fingers found their way on Xian’s shoulders digging their nails into his skin, oozing the venom that was heartbreak and coldness into his body. It was that last look that Hyuna gave him that broke him free of hurt’s grip. Yes. It was painful to be that close to her and pretend to not feel anything but she must of still had some of type of hold on his heart because he went after her. The look in her eyes screamed so many emotions but he picked up that she needed help.

He told his members that he would meet at the studio later and grabbed his bag heading out into the hall. He looked both ways down the hall before spotting a lost and confused looking hyuna. He took a deep breath and walked up to her. “Need help?” He spoke softly in korean like he wasn’t confident in his words but his body was giving off so much confidence standing before her. 

She felt like her head was spinning, so many different emotions fueling her. She just wasn’t sure which to act on. She knew a part of her still cared for him, but he seemed to be fine. That’s what she was going to tell herself. That was until she heard the familiar voice come up from behind her. Turning her attention back to Xian, she couldn’t help but give him a soft smile. This one feeling much more natural since she didn’t feel the beady eyes of everyone around her. Hyuna still wasn’t good at expressing anything, her cover of sarcasm her scapegoat throughout the years. Yet, at the moment she couldn’t muster any up.

“Go ahead and try and scare me.” She threatened with small playful glare in his direction. There usually wasn’t any type of scare she would normally have, but anything to do with reptiles scared her to death. Hyuna was faced with having to walk past a guy on the street that casually had his pet snake on his shoulder. She had moved to the opposite side of Miles in order to walk faster and further away, but now all the other was doing was taunting her and making it difficult to focus. She would definitely rather be doing something other than this. Who thought it was a good idea to take a snake out for a walk. Must be a foreigner, she mused to herself. 

His friend shaking him and laughing loudly in his ear was what brought him out of his reverie. His blinked a fews times and caught the slight bow she gave towards him. It was quick and felt like it was forced. He placed his hand on his chest and rubbed it in soothing way. The emotions he hasn’t felt in almost three years came crashing down on him and it was a feeling he didn’t miss one bit. He wasn’t sure what she was doing here but he didn’t think highly of himself and think that she was here for him and his crew. That would be the last thing he could ever imagined she would even though he imagined this very scenario many, many times years ago.

When she was about to leave the room his shoulders drooped but he quickly picked them back up. He wasn’t going to let this feeling take over him. His sister sure did a heck of job because he put on a face that was unphased when she was directed back towards them. He stood there with his arms crossed listening to her broken mandarin while his members all had bright smiles. “Thank you” all the members said at once in mandarin. “X, you used to live in Korea? Do you know any Korean still?” A member asked “No.” He lied.  He put a smile on his face and bowed his head towards Hyuna. “Thank you for coming. We are happy you enjoyed the show! I hope you continue to support us.” He words sounded prerecorded.

His words crashed against her. “Never stopped.” She muttered quietly in Korean as turned towards the door. The nervous shaking her hands were dealing with disappeared with the sight of them as she shoved them in her jacket pockets, keeping her static smile plastered on her lips. This was good, right? He had a lot of things going for him, she was proud of him. Once he finished speaking, her eyes flicked back up towards his for a brief moment before turning back to the door, shuffling out with the few others moving out.
