Had my first solo show titled "Oh, Won't You Be My Neighbor?" around the start of May at the wonderful Spudnik Press Cooperative in Chicago, IL.
The show was curated by the talented and fabulous Elise Forer (ceramicbones).

Artist Brian Kelly from University of Louisiana Lafayette visited NIU and made a great five color print with students and staff. Yellow, magenta, cyan, and two blacks. Brian collages drawings and elements of former prints with new elements to create a brand new piece. Everything went smoothly and Brian was a joy to work with.
Fun day in Chicago last weekend lookin' at all the arts. These paintings are from Chris Cosnowski's "Enlightened?" show at Linda Warren gallery.
They're multiplying...
This last weekend I took a trip to Ohio University in Athens to see my friend Shaina Davis' MFA show entitled "How the Light Gets In." Had a great time visiting her, seeing the show, and touring the campus.
OU has some great facilities on their main campus, and the graduate studios separate, in an old insane asylum overlooking the town. Which is awesome.

The wonderful and talented Kathryn Polk visited NIU last week and worked with students and staff to create this seven color lithograph using a stone key, Photoplates and Smart Plates. You can see more of Kathryn's work on her blog: http://www.nonindigenouswoman.com/
Productive day! Finished editioning the print on the left (which turned out delightfully brighter than the original trial proof) and proofed four layers of a CMYK (which still needs some adjusting, it's a little too dark). Monoprinting this weekend and then Kathryn Polk is coming to town as a visiting artist to make some bad ass lithographs. Hooray!
Finally getting around to editioning one of the first prints I did at NIU.
This is your life on lithography.
Snow Cold day #2- no classes again so Mike and I spent the day finishing cleaning and prepping the Mailander press. Thing shines up like a new penny! Next step is to take it for a test print.
Mike said it needs a name. We both agreed it should be something German. After a long night of pondering and research I came up with a few. He liked Maximillian. I'm partial to Broomhilda.
Any suggestions?

Why? Because sometimes you need a rack to hold up to eight levigators. And because sometimes Mike Barnes just decides to build one in a day.
Reconditioning two leather rollers with dried in ink. These are the after pics with the roller in noir a monte ink and scraped in the last image. Happy to say both are working great now.
One great thing about living in the middle of nowhere is the more than adequate studio space. <3
