no scene in OBX pisses me off quite like Rafe giving up his mothers ring because ??? literally why don't we deserve to know ANYTHING about the woman? why can't they give us even a snippet of what happened to her? the way Rafe just says uh, it was my mothers, it's been in the family forever is so detached. like is this woman divorced, living in Ohio and doesn't feel like being a mom anymore? did Ward do something to drive a wedge between her and the kids? is she locked up, estranged, in another country, dead?? four seasons and we get no hints, whatsoever? this is the first time she’s mentioned at all? like not even a I was sorry to hear about your mom, or both parents? poor kids whispered in the background? couldn't zoom out a little when "Ward" was being buried to see another Cameron headstone?
