Like “I-want-that-boy-and-I-want-my-money”-Barry, I want it, but idk if I can have it.

The problem is Barry (period) does not want JJ anywhere near Rafe and not for jealousy reasons I think he wouldn’t even mind cucking, but JJ threatens everything he has with Rafe and going after JJ even in the slightest is an immediate risk of losing Rafe.

Although we only see him get beat up on the show Barry is not a total loser okay you have to trust me on this one. However, Rafe could most definitely still beat him or at least properly fight back if he wanted to. When it comes to JJ, Rafe can fight fine enough but when it comes to Barry he turns into a crybaby, which coincidentally gives them both exactly what they want from him. Barry and JJ take fighting each other seriously enough, that is until Barry avoids fighting him altogether (if we believe obx on this and since when do we believe obx on anything).

Obviously, considering this dynamic, Barry’s grip on Rafe and their folie a deux fantasy world crumbles if Rafe sees him with JJ. It’s like rock paper scissors, Rafe can beat JJ (if he tries hard enough), JJ can beat Barry (not trying all that hard) and yet?? Barry controls Rafe?? How are you gonna keep this up?

And tbh it’s the same for Rafe, he doesn’t want JJ anywhere near Barry either, for the same reasons as Barry (can’t combine these two versions of himself into one) and jealousy most definitely this shit could tame or kill him.

The only one who wouldn’t really have issues either way is JJ, Barry and Rafe are both so stuck playing roles, especially for each other.

Barry’d sure love to have these two as pets but he’s not that guy and I’d say he’s too much of a pussy to even try.

And yk Barry acts like he has any real reasoning to go after John B when really, it just helps Rafe to go after him but I get the need to act selfish rather than an absolute simp to him, like when he comes to him about John b being back he’s all in acting like John b is his personal problem (while mind you, explicitly never asking Rafe for any help with his JJ issue in return, if anything, diverting attention) but…JJ was there the entire time and what did you do about it?

He knows it was JJ and not John B who stole from him and John B dying literally doesn’t change a thing, JJ is right there, stole 25k and beat him twice and I’m just trying to understand why you’d burn poor little Rafe’s wrist over max 1-5k debt if even but when JJ Maybank steals 25k directly out of your own private home, your bedroom even, where is your problem solving initiative? How are you fixing your shit, exactly (and if I may dare to ask, why aren’t you)?

the thing is that we I mean Barry had everything but he was too scared no too spoiled thinking he’d have Rafe forever, overwhelmed with opportunities he couldn’t even handle, ugh sorry no just he deserves it, I mean what’s coming to him, I mean losing Rafe, I mean having all that slip through his fingers, it’s just he failed Rafe and, in the same way he’s still at his fathers feet, he’s there seeking for some sort of…explanation for why he was never enough to take like you just got this grown, powerful man there now, and he’s still just begging to be told why he wasn’t enough, why he’ll never be, now less than ever, too big, too strong, too much, and no way back into a smaller, more lovable self,
