"Oh, Drake,,"

It's very upsetting that Drake built a costume for Gosalyn to fit her little 9 year old body, despite it being 20 years since she last disappeared. He's so stuck it kills me, this whole au is beyond devastating.

It's also interesting that Darkwarrior truly believed that if Gosalyn were to show up that she would be on board with what he was doing. Gosalyn is one of the kindest and most thoughtful characters of the whole cast-Drake should know that, and yet he's so deluded that he completely forgot that about her. I suppose its because Dwar himself doesn't think he's doing 'wrong'.

Anyways, after the events of Time and Punishment, in a sort of 'redemption' au, Dw and Lp reunite and Lp goes to clear out Darkwarriors headquarters because they need to get rid of that stuff before the public find it. Launchpad finds the costume and is really forced to have a moment where he realises how badly this whole Gosalyn thing took a toll on his mental health. (As if it wasn't clear before but)

Like obviously Launchpad never left St Canard and he watched Dwar police the city and do unforgivable things, but he didn't get to see this sort of thing.

Watched my friend play undertale (because I genuinely suck at games) and it was so amazing ough, we did the true pacifist run which made me hella emotional like four times sighhhh

I'm like a decade late to the party but better late than never 😗

I used to be into the aus as a kid and I knew the story as far as those dubbed comics covered of the original game but I had never watched gameplays of it bc I wanted to experience it myself, which unfortunately didn't happen because I was buns at the game BUT. That's changed now and I'm like really baffled I didn't try harder to get into it, that's on me. Sighhhh

"Darkwing Duck has come to save us all!"

That's actually incredibly tragic to me and it's been plaguing me non stop after I rewatched this episode. Nobody within that universe has ever been outside of it, nor have they seen Darkwing Duck, the most they would've heard was from Negaduck–and that's him ranting and putting Dw down.

But the fact that Gosalyn has clung onto the idea that somewhere there's a hero that would help them is very upsetting.

I'm not a fan of negaduck being a father figure (sorryyyy to each their own idm) but he is a very apathetic character when it comes to other people in his life. Or just people in gen. Not only did he lock Gosalyn up alongside the rest of them within the 'Life, Negaverse and Everything' episode, but in the Quiverwing Quack ep, he had no issues potentially killing Gosalyn and Honker on that tightrope scenario. Did he know it was specifically Gosalyn? Probably not, but he knew it was a kid, and he doesn't care

The only reason why Negaduck may keep Gos around is purely for pride. Her mere existence would be a challenge to him and with how much he hates anything cute or kind, he hopes and expects that someday he'll rub off on her. If gos is ever gon change he'd want it to be because of him. But also he doesn't spend nearly enough time w her, it's mainly lp playing babysitter (begrudgingly)

I cannot see Negaduck ever prioritizing Gosalyn. He's VERY independent and having her attached is already one string too many. He's also always away. Either out in the prime universe or running his own personal playground.

Negaduck

I like the one sidedness of their dynamic

Negaduck likes the Prime universe in the sense that he finds it a challenge. His universe is already pretty rotten, and while he finds it fun because he can treat it as a playground in some sort of way–eventually it gets boring. It's why he comes and goes in prime, he appears when he wants, does what he wants and then disappears.

It's interesting because I think a part of him keeps coming back because of Darkwing. (Just a heads up this is NOT negawing) Darkwing is really one of the only characters to put a stick in his wheels and get in the way of his plans, it's why Negaduck constantly has to think of new ways to approach St.Canard. Darkwing is a lot more important in his life than I think he likes to acknowledge.

I do not think Darkwing holds any attachment to Negaduck. He finds him as much of a hassle as he does any other villain in St.Canard. Additionally, I think he's removed himself from Negaduck completely. Darkwing knows they're not the same person (unless we're talking about the good looks they both claim to have). There's no special treatment with him.

When Gosalyn gets involved he obviously doesn't want her there and he'll tell her to go home, but it's nothing nearly as major as Taurus bulba. It gets to the point where Launchpad uses the Quiverwing Quack Episode to tell Darkwing that he's coddling Gosalyn too much. All that's to say, Darkwing doesn't care nearly as much as Nd.

Another thing I think is interesting is his constant attempts to kill Dw. He hates him, and I think a big part of that hate comes from the fact that Negaduck is a varient of Dw. They both have a need to be #1, and tbh I think the mere fact that Negaduck will never be an original, THE varient really annoys him, especially because the original goes against everything he stands for.

It's interesting how tunnel visioned he gets sometimes, how committed he is to offing the hero. Because of how much of a challenge Darkwing is for him, the greatest achievement of all would be to get rid of him entirely.

And he doesn't think that far ahead either because in the case that he does succeed, What then? He'll likely be as bored as he was in his own universe

Drakepad under the stars

I used to ask everyone to draw them stargazing if they ever opened suggestions but I hadn't done it myself so

Anyways I love them dearly, they're soooo important. The main thing that I love about Drakepad is that they don't have to exist in a romantic sense to work as a ship, they're hero/sidekick first, then best friends, guardians for Gosalyn and only then maybe smt more. It's really sweet how much they enjoy eachothers company and never really get tired of one another.

Them being partners for life in every way there is, is genuinely so important
