How the bachelores/Bachelorettes react to a builder who comes out of the ruins injured 🤕 pt 1
When you'd gone into the abandoned ruins, you hadn't really expected to run into any trouble - what was usually out there besides a few rockneyrolls or starbys, or maybe some bots? You certainly weren't expecting a contaminated plierimp to get the drop on you. You managed to defend yourself, as always, but not without a thorough beating on your part. Bruises, scrapes, a bloodied nose. Nothing life-threatening but enough to make you grumble during the journey back to town. What was that stupid imp doing there anyway? You've barely crossed the railroad tracks into town when you hear a familiar voice call for you.
Man's runs to you so fast that you don't really have time to react. If you're on a mount, he pulls you off. If you're walking he tackles you.
"What happened to you?! Baby, darling, sweetheart, tell me, please! No! Nevermind how, we need to get you to fang!"
Hands cradling your face, tears in his very dramatic eyes. He can't decide if he should kiss your scrapes or not, afraid to hurt you worse.
Frantic until you grab his wrist and force him to look at you for real. Immediately melts into your arms, muttering words of comfort and worry.
Sorry, you're not getting out of this without a visit to Fang. No arguments.
Clings to you for the next few days, following anxiously behind you. No more ruin diving, send Justice or Unsuur to get what you need.
In all his overzealous, protective fanatics, he truly does love you. He'll make sure you never doubt it.
"Hey-hey, babe! I was looking for... Hon?"
Much calmer, though, still worried. Slowly helps you off your mount or takes your pick hammer for you depending again on how you come into town.
"Woah, babe, what happened? Are you alright? Are you sure? C'mon let me get you something to eat."
Guides you to the blue moon with a somewhat protective arm around your waist.
Into the kitchen to the sink. He's gonna sit you on the counter while he dabs gently at your wounds with a wet cloth, wiping away any dirt or blood that may be there.
Gentle jabber while he works, a master at keeping people calm.
"So, have I told you about this one time another builder came into the saloon a few years ago? This guy who only talked about how many orders he could take and about his sister. A bit intense, but not a bad guy."
Once he's satisfied that you're clean and well, he'll set you up with some yakmel milk and a nice hearty meal, sitting aside you as you eat.
Might ask you to stay the night at the saloon that night, let him hold you while you sleep.
Always calm and rational, but he may try to convince you to ask someone else to get the things you need for now.
"Ah, there you are! I- oh... that's... suboptimal."
We love Qi, but he's awkward, and we all know it. He may not have the forethought to help you off your mount or take your tools but his concern is genuine.
"Abrasions to the epidermis, not too deep. Mieophasial strain... hmm, yes we should get you home."
He guides you back to your workshop, occasionally asking if something is hurting or clearing his throat.
Gets you inside and pulls out your first aid kit, methodically patching up what he considers the most pressing injuries, mumbling quietly under his breath*
"There we are. Good. You should rest, yes? I don't think the town will collapse if you take the rest of the evening off. Come see me in the morning, I will make you some tea. Goodnight."
He doesn't mean to rush off on you, but that's just Qi. Always wanting to get back to his research.
He does make you tea in the morning, though.
"Ah, my lamb, there you...oh. oh no."
We all have witnessed that Miguel can become a bit... impassioned when what he cares about is threatened, and you're no exception.
"Of all the Wreckless, stupid, irresponsible things...!"
He doesn't really mean it. he's just scared for you. Later, these will be replaced with kind and loving words, more poetic as he usually tends to be.
You'd better hold still while he looks you over, guides your head from side to side as he inspects it, runs his hands up and down your arms looking for suspected fractures or breaks.
Once he's satisfied that a visit to Fang isn't necessary he insists you come with him to the church, sit with him while he does his auditing.
While you sit in a chair at his side, your head on his shoulder, he mutters softly, the scratching of his pen against the page a sound you've longed associated with him.
After a while and his temper calms, he presses a kiss to the top of your head, his defensive nature finally giving way to his underlying worry.
"I'm sorry for snapping at you, my light. But certainly, this is a reminder of the corruption and danger of the old world to you. I understand your job requires you to delve into places I'd rather you not go, and I won't begrudge you your duty. But you must promise me to be more careful. I'll not have corruption long past take my current joy from me.
Stunned silence followed by a terse "mmm..."
Immediately approaches in a mix of angry and worried silence.
You know that voice he uses after you an arvio "kidnap" X? Yeah. That voice.
"Come to the clinic. Now."
Once you're there, he sits you atop the bed and immediately begins tending to you in silence. He hadn't been this quiet around you in some time.
Cleaned, medicated, and bandaged. Thats you. he sits across from you for a long moment, his head hanging.
Finally he speaks, his voice similarly strained to when Cooper talked to him way too fast.
"My... my Swan... you cannot...erm."
Sighs a long moment before restarting, a little clearer now.
"I can not lose you too. You must be more careful. Take my medicine with you... keep a sharp eye. Please. I... I love you."
Of course, you reassure him you will.
Sits beside you and holds your hand for a moment before pulling you flush against him in a hug.
