Our Wedding Journey

Well, it's not for me it's mainly for my bff the bride to be. Me being me, I think having a spa date with her is way way better than organising a wild hen party. Of course every brides to be would love one last crazy night before being tide down, but knowing her since primary school she was never once that person who even think of doing something remotely wild even to just kiss or hug a random stranger or even try those places that we all would once we are legal by law. So instead of making the night awkward for her in front of her other groups of friend, as a Maid of Honour, I would spend some quality time with her on her birthday and one week before the big day in a lush relaxing green spa. Don't get me wrong, I would love to organise those types of party who doesn't, not as if I have lots of girlfriends to pick from to begin with, well I guess maybe one day I will get to be invited to one of those parties. 

Anyway, I just realise that looking for Malay tukang urut or also known as massage therapist in English and even spas places consist of lots of thinking. Such as is the place "clean", can the person be trusted and many many more. Typical mak mak thinking, malas nak layan. So other than Spa by Norfasarie and Aura Royalis Spa ( well that is all I can find), I decided to go back to the place where I fell in love with being half naked surrounded with lush greenery. ARAMSA, THE GARDEN SPAS!!! When there with Mr. W once like 6 -7 years ago, before I head down under to Melbourne, and I immediately fall in love with the place. The ambience, the smell, the service, the everything. On the side note, it is a bit pricey but who cares. AND..... I just did an appointment for two OMG OMG so exciting!!!! So this is what I booked. Tropical Java Lulur for two consist of:

1. full body exfoliation using a special blend of turmeric and rice powder

2. full body yoghurt wrap

3. therapeutic touch massage

4.  a warm outdoor flower bath, infused with ginger and lemongrass juices, and laced with petals of rose, jasmine, frangipani and other seasonal aromatic blossoms

Plus I decided to also include facials that will be cater to our skin type on that day.

Ever since I'm back in Sg have been busy clearing my sis bedroom for the past 4 days. All because of the Nenek. Mom have yet to break the news that my wedding location will not be at her house thus we not be needing the room other then me sleeping in it with the husband.

l strongly believe and think that I’m not One of them or so I say. According to him and mom, because I’m still too busy with Uni and have yet to actually plan plan a wedding my true Colours have yet to show. Hmmm I hope that’s not true but if it does I appologies in advance. I could be a little bit controlling and will keep on trying to look for vendors that could, would and understand what I’m trying to achieve. Since I’m new in this (like duh) there’s no harm walking around, shop after shop asking right? oh well, so i decided to take a quick quiz on”Are you a Bridezilla?” You guys should try it out (here) and see if you need to take a step back and chill or fire it up. However I’m not sure how accurate it is, but I tried to answered them based on  what I think I will do since I have yet to actually plan a wedding. So result;

First product review: SHILLS Whitening Acne Care Body Spray

Well, everyone knows that when it comes to whitening product its always made in some Asian country and this is from Taiwan. After using the spray for about 1 month, I would safely say that no new acne was form even during the period even when I'm washing myself with dirty water. But I'm not so sure about whitening or clearing the existing scar. On a side note, though it said whitening on the bottle, the product description at the back state "allows skin to appear smoother without leaving marks", so no such promises ladies. Plus 150ml in a bottle only last you for 2 weeks (luckily I bought 2 just so I could have free shipping). Anyway, the best part about this product is... (drum-roll) since its spray, it's easy for the good stuffs to reach the middle/centre of your back without breaking your arms. 

Where do I get this? Sasa.com where you can get most of the "Asian" skincare product. I spent hours and hours trying to keep in budget and not get distracted with things I think I want and actually need. Me being me trying to save some money, I ask Mr. Wan to check out for me the product at Sasa in Singapore. But there was none in store pretty weird since they sell it online. But he found it in BGH which cost way way more expensive compared to online even after conversion from AUD to SG; AU$12.40 which is like SG$14.20 and mind you it's free shipping. From what I can remember its about $20 ish in BHG. 

Some would say that a pre-wedding beauty regime should take place 3 months before D-day, but really a good skin care regime for me is always a necessity. Well the basic at least; facial wash, toner, moisturise, scrub once a week and occasional face pack (when I feel like it). Since I know when D-day is going to happen and have ample to time, I shall increase dosage and aim for a flawless skin from head to toe. For now the main target shall be my dreadful, scary looking back as I'm blessed with an almost pimple-free face not even during period, except on those days when the water is dirty (will tell you more soon) and when I'm just too lazy and tired after working out under the sun and doing heavy lifting during work placement. Other than that pretty happy about the face even during puberty (bohoho big deal, show off).

Now the real problem of mine is the back-acne, also known as bacne, and scars. No no its not the kind that you see on Good Luck Chuck thank god. Its those tiny little red ones with no yellow pus that can be squeeze but hurts when touch and will leave nasty SCARS. I'm not so sure if its common cause there are minimum articles about them, things to do, remedies and products that we can use on Google. Oh well maybe people just don't want to share it could be embarrassing. 

I have seen some crazy and massive gifts exchange between bride and groom. Ranging from the number of trays, expensive items and even one would say weird items. But who cares its between the couple and what they like even if it is just mostly toys or coffee machine. So I would love to just keep it as simple and minimal as possible don't need a whole lot of trays, which I got a feeling my mom would disagree similar with duit hantaran. Who the hell cares what the market price is but that's another story. 

It's hard communicating with him about this. First, I was busy with Uni and disappeared to Nanya St (well that's because there were no reception), now he is having reservist. All the answers I got is wait till I come back to Sg. I might sound cheapo but I wanna shop for the things during boxing day sale. The last boxing day sale before we tie the knot.

I know I've said that i would just settle for a traditional Malay bridal henna. aka just finger capping and circular blob in the middle. Then this girlfriend of mine keep sending me henna designs from Syraskins. AND I'M IN LOVE!!! So I decided to book her like two days ago. Weeeeeee so so so happy and in love with this finger laces and done. She will be the ONE.

Well maybe don't really have to be a terrarium, something like these will do.. pretty pretty please.

I'm not trying to be all so special or anything of not wanting to engage a wedding service for D-day. It is an easier and better option for me since I'm planning this from Melbourne. It's just that when I was back home last summer I couldn't find one that could fully grasp what I'm trying to achieve. Don't get me wrong, there are some who knew what I was aiming for but they were just too expensive. So much money will be spent on a single "party" and I don't think that it worth it. I would rather use that money for our new house. 

Ok he might still be serving his NS and fresh grad from TP but who cares he's GOOD. Meet the guy who will be making mine and his wedding outfit. Even mom agree with him once she saw his handy work. So glad I got lost at Arab street the last time I went back. One of the outfit for this bride was in the making before I left for Melbourne. Trust my instinct and mom to just let him do it since I can't really find what I want at the bridal shops in Singapore. Some comments from the Bridal shop when I told them that I wanted a "old" skool dress like Saloma outfit:

"Tu fashion lama tau, nanti 2014 da tak lawa." - Eh eh orang punya suke ah.

"Oh my nice used that dress when she got married like 3 -4 years ago" 

Anyway, I'm glad the Baju part is all settled. Left with me heading back to Singapore coming summer to discuss about what i actually want.

As for myself, I would love love love green for my deco. 

Ok so if our traditional malay outfit is going to be orange/coral, I hope the deco on your side "blue" matches with it. Sorry if my decision for making it coral was implusive.
