I honestly think when he's not actively provoking people he keeps to himself. As for a situation where he'd be soft- being w raian means understanding he's gonna be crass and can be a lot to deal with. I can see him TRYING to MAYBE be a little nice/soft if he really fucked up and is being ignored for days or genuinely feels remorse over how he treated his partner. And that's a whole awkward issue in itself. When he's in that lull between deep sleep and groggy consciousness, he's more willing to indulge in gentle touch. Don't mention it though, bc he'll ruin it by trying to either pin you or worse, he'll retract his touch and turn his back to you, unwilling to turn back around at all for the rest of the night
