Share an example of your experience as a fan of a show that was cancelled. help us feel the feels.

My ALL TIME favorite show since middle school was Shadowhunters. Based on a multiple book series, I was obsessed with the fictional fantasy world. There was romance, magic, plotwists. I loved it. I remember after the release of season 3, the cast and crew had announced that Freeform cancelled it. I also cried! I could not believe this amazing show that became a comfort for me was not picked up for a new season! I still rewatch the show to this day and get disappointed.

Always a shame when shows you love get cancelled. I was wondering if they still had several seasons planned after or not.

What do you like most about your learning?

What I liked the most about my learning in this class is that I get to do is designing my own PowerPoint templates because I have done that in the past before and I’ve enjoyed it a lot.

That is what I enjoy. A lot of my classes do not permit much creativity so being able to create my own thing while still staying within the bounds of the directions is great!

My Writing Process!

The thing I'm most proud of when it comes to my writing process is the way I've been able to change it this semester. When it comes to academic writing, I used to take the "get it all done at one time" approach. And while that did work for me, I tried to do a "little bit at a time" approach this semester. It actually worked out really well for me! I already used that process for creative writing (obviously you can't write a book in one sitting!) but applying it to my academic writing was new. It went well and I think going forward in my last semester I will continue using that process!

That is a great change to be making for academic writing. Academic writing is still super important to break down into parts to keep up good time management.

Most of my project is just blank words with not much design, or eye grabbing details. This is something that I have struggled with so far this semester, but have somehow always found a way out. With a section like the one below, what are some good ways for me to include pictures, highlighted words, or other attention grabbing details?

I would maybe add gifs or pictures that show the anger of the posters to tack on an eye-appealing portion.

Design Project Feedback

As I was continuing to make fake posts for my design project, I was wondering if these look fine? The idea I was going for was a tweet replying to the announcement, followed by the company replying to the fan.

I feel as if there should more context behind this post. The company should respond with a reason whether vague or not as to why the show is not coming back such as budget or lack of fans.

share a section of your Design Project content. What is the work of this sample? How can we help you revise?

I posted an example of an original content piece that I created for this project in my post for the professor, asking for more feedback on it, but here is an example of what I created on my TV show's Instagram story. This to me the easiest way to create posts, so I highly recommend it, but with Instagram, I’m struggling to find new ways to post my content and overall I feel like my content is very repetitive which I would love to get feedback on how I can change that and make it better and more creative will also still appealing to the Instagram audience. I can’t really make a Reel for this, but as I am creating my last seven posts as the TV show account reacting to people‘s criticism of the cancellation, I’m a little stuck on ideas and how to be more creative. I would love suggestions as to how my other Instagram creators are making their content so unique. Thank you in advance for your feedback!

Hi!

I love how this looks. I think using stories as a reply based system is so unique, I doubt any one else is doing it this way.

It’s also very modern in a way that this is exactly what companies are doing when responding. I feel like no one uses twitter or tumblr anymore for mass fan communication.

I see the great vision behind the use of the replies. I feel that over the years twitter and tumblr while still massively popular are becoming overshadowed by giants such as Instagram and tiktok. These platforms would theoretically be shared more.

As stated already a goo show that I think of is bojack and fans were frustrated that they decided to compact the last season instead of waiting for the strike to resolve and fleshing out the story.

explain the appeal of long podcasts (20+ minutes), why do audiences listen? How do the creators make choices to engage the audience?

When listening to a long podcast, the main appeal would be topic that are being talked about. Depending on your interest, you can just listen to them while you’re at work or driving a car without getting distracted watching a screen. These creators make the active choice of choosing topic they are interested in that maybe the audience might be interested in because it kind of like listening into another person’s conversation.

I believe that podcasts are also a good and cheap alternative to something such as cable tv given the length of most podcasts.
