If vox was there
They re so canon 🎶
A detail that I know you Radiostatic stans will ABSOLUTELY LOVE is how Alastor reacts when Vox makes physical contact with him: he doesn't mind at all!!!!!!!!
Despite the fact that we've seen he's not really the kind of guy who likes giving OR receiving physical affection, he's totally okay with this sweet CRT getting right up in his personal space!
It may not seem like it means a lot, but it absolutely does because the only people he allows to make this kind of contact with him ARE PEOPLE THAT HE'S REALLY CLOSE WITH (i.e. Rosie and Niffty)! And because of that, it shows that he genuinely did value his little bond with Vox!
Guess Radiostatic ain't so one-sided after all!
He fucking used to let him touch him jesus christ
"You're so obsessed with me!"
"I knew you'd need me here-"
"You still need me like you did before-"
Hey Al? Sweetie? I'm pretty sure he heard you the first time. Who are you trying to convince rn

Do you think Viv looked at the calendar and went: “yeah canon doomed yaoi radiostatic on Destiel day. Obvious choice.”
alastor can pretend they were never friends all he wants but he still remembers every minute detail of their last conversation down to the exact words vox used to compliment him
until given evidence to the contrary, I will believe that there's a deeper reason for why Al reacted the way he did, esp when he looked so incredibly fond seconds before
It was to be sad AND complicated, not just sad!!
As much as I'm a die-hard radiostatic shipper who would've loved some of my ship in the first episode, as a Vox enthusiast, I think it was perfect that he didn't so much as mention Alastor the entire episode. Sure, there were references (Alastor in the drawing of the hotel, and he was absolutely thinking about him during a certain part of his song), but he didn't directly talk about Alastor at all.
It is such a juxtaposition after his entire role in season one was just hating on Alastor to have him start this season taking on a prominent role in an episode that has nothing to do with Alastor. From a storytelling standpoint, it sets him up as a villain in his own right, and not just Alastor's rival, and I hope this makes those people who saw him as just an Alastor simp see that there is more to his character than that.
"Don't you forget (reprise) [explicit]"
IM SORRY WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME!??!?!?!?!?!

viv liked this on bsky fyi
i really like how vox has to gradually win over the other two vees to his plan, it cements the idea that they're partners, not blind sycophants, and all three of them are very aware that they rely on each other for power and support. val and vel have real reservations and vox has to make his case pretty damn convincing to even catch their interest. i'm eager to see how this dynamic develops further considering that vox, specifically, has slipped up multiple times in centering only himself, but "once we get up there" implicitly supports what alastor asserted in s1 - vox is powerless with the other vees, and i think there is going to be real tension between his egocentrism and the united front they need to present throughout this season
