Holes || Beaufort and Benjamin
"Unfortunately." Ben had to agree. He knew nothing of his younger brother and his ego wouldn’t come into play in this subject. He was well aware of the limitations of their relationship. The main question between the brothers had to be if Beau was willing to let Ben in. "Would you ever let me know you?" Ben would try his best no matter what. He would rather look like a fool and help his family then sacrifice them for an image or any pride he may have. He may have been prideful and slightly arrogant like their Father but Ben had the same family values as his Mother. Ben paused as Beau wanted more information on the book. Would he recommend it? He was mainly reading it because of his leg and wasn’t even sure he would continue the series now that he was able to be active again. "Give it a read, it’s probably something most people would enjoy. The writing is well done, the plot is a bit more fantasy then anything but its a good series." Ben shrugged the librarian recommended it to him and he just went with it.
It was a double edged sword, to not let people know him, because it meant he could not know people, and though he understood that as the eldest Benjamin had a particularly proud of his understanding of his siblings, they also all had the uncanny abillity to not allow themselves to be taunted by being wrong and instead learning. Somehow, between regrettable anger, resentment and fear was Beau, in need to not only trust the people he cared about, but also trust himself, .so that they could have an open connection. He pulled his feet down and instead got on his knees on the sofa, and even then, he had to look down to speak to him properly. "I suppose I'll try to read it, supposing that I find it's okay enough." His only grip of course,would ever be if a book did not know how to describe it's world accurately.
