I notice how hard it is to move on from my thoughts once I get hooked. I like to stay here festering. It's like leaving something behind permanently if I interrupt my thoughts. It's silly.
I miss when I was more carefree. I figure that might be why so many things have fallen apart. If I hadn't gotten so serious then I wouldn't be so lonely. I know thats not true though. Its been important to get in touch with my feelings over time. It sucks that others couldn't always keep up.
Im so tired of thinking, I actively try to stop.
Last night I dreamed about her. She was sleeping over because she was just visiting and it would have been convenient for her to stay the night. I made many accommodations for her which I was happy to. Right before bedtime she accidently took my bed and I was about to sleep on my cot instead without saying anything but she realized and insisted I take my bed back. I wanted to tell her it's okay if she takes my bed, I really don't mind but I couldn't work up the courage. Thats because what I really wanted to get across was how much I cared which felt like it was too much since we aren't that close anymore. Thats how I feel in real life too. Even if how much I care is valid, it's still a lot to put on someone who might feel like they don't deserve it or have to regulate it for some reason. So I'm stuck with it all myself. Its like having a secret crush all over again even though in the past we admitted some form of love towards each other. It sucks being so one-sided. It also feels inherently wrong like I shouldn't put so much love into someone who isn't giving any back. I think that's a sign of dysfunction.
If I take the projection route and have actually fallen in love with the traits I want to see in myself, then I need some kind of internal caregiver. I don't know what that feels like though. I don't know how to encourage feelings of nurture towards myself. I think I'm also infatuated with the idea of being in touch with your childhood interests, something I lost touch with. Some of my strongest yearnings are for those nights I'd play her old favorite games for her because I felt like I was travelling back in time to when things were more innocent except this time I wasn't alone like I was when I was a kid.
Man I just want to feel seen again.
I guess I haven't figured out anything good to do with my nights for a long time. I kinda just sit around waiting for something to change. I fester in my memories. I try to distract myself and kill time. Nothing helpful. Its hard to relax. Im fighting off my pain on a nightly basis, alone.
I don't even know what to journal about anymore. I don't want to whine about my woes like I used to because I never stop. I'm like a broken record. Surely that isn't helping. What helps me more is to stop thinking so much and feel things out on my own. Wordless thought is what I've been calling it. Its nice but scary because I have to be on my own for it. I get lonely but not in a helpful way.
I have a dental appointment tomorrow and then there's supposed to be a wind storm tomorrow night. I'm not worried about those things necessarily, I'm worried about not having support through them. Thats what I'm ALWAYS worried about. I feel like I can take on any challenge if only I am taken care of afterwards or otherwise supported in some way reliably. For years I've had 1 person at any given time I counted on. However in both cases it really wasn't so great because the care wasn't reliable. Sucks because I was willing to step up and do my part so that has me resentful allowing an unfair dynamic.
Im really not sure what holds me together right now. I do my work diligently but I sort of don't know how. I've increased my work load but I'm not being drained so much by it. I can't say I feel terribly engaged in it or rewarded from it. Maybe it's just distracting. I feel like Im in denial, desperately hoping things are better than I think but I know at some point I have to snap back to reality. I sort of forgot my dad died because it hasn't changed much in my life but I think it's going to hit me again later. Unicorn and I have been distant for a long long time and I've fallen back into the delusion that we are closer than we are. I regressed in that sense because I was doing so much better than now. My life in general is quite lonely and I think I've lost my sense of fun. I truly a lost on what to do to help myself.
