I was curious as to what the term “Robophobe” means in your ask prompt? Does it refer to the aversion to a robot, or the fear of one? If it is the former, what actions would you consider to be robophobic? I would like to make sure that I avoid offending any of the student body with my ignorance of the topic.

“Yes, in my terms, it is the former. It is a form of bigotry, essentially. A lot of things are to be considered robophobic- such as implying I don’t have thoughts or emotions, implying that I have no real identity or place in this world, using demeaning terms such as ‘tin can’’, ‘scrap metal’, ‘Roomba’… ‘vending machine’. Assuming I can or cannot perform tasks due to my status as a robot, as well as excluding me from said activity due to my being a robot. To put it simply, if you wouldn’t do it to a human, you wouldn’t do it to me. You wouldn’t inquire on a human’s lack of a certain body part, so neither would you inquire upon mine because ‘robot’. I hope I’ve explained this well enough for you to get the idea…
