Is like being a sock that just came out of the dryer with one hundred other socks.

Some pairs are easy to spot, they have bright colors,

Name brands, go all the way up to the knees, are tiny and meant not to show when you wear flats. It’s easy for these socks to find each other, to be together, to know that it’s right.

But then there are the white socks. Not all white socks are the same, but some are so similar that they can be mistaken for one another. Until you put them next to each other and one is too long, or the ribs at the top of the sock don’t match perfectly. Some people don’t notice until after they have folded the socks together, put them in a drawer, and wear them the next week and notice that they don’t feel the same. It almost works, but it really doesn’t.

Then there are the socks who never find their match. Eventually you give these socks another purpose or you throw them away because for whatever reason, their match is gone.
