"The dead have no morals," Clark told her. "All the things seen as decent here donât matter there. If itâs any consolation though, you are free to wander the Underworld and stay away from those you donât like." He slid his hands in his pockets and rolled his head to crack the bones in his neck. "When I say âruledâ I use the term loosely. Hades just sort of oversees things, makes sure riots donât break out. Itâs a peaceful place overall, really."
Clark shifted his weight on to his left leg and turned his head to the side to look at this girl and he smiled thinly, âDeath is the most freeing thing a human can do. But the afterlife comes after the dying part.â
"Damn. That's actually pretty deep." Kaz admitted. And it was true. She wasn't suicidal or anything, but she had a nagging curiosity about death and everything that came afterwards. Kaz had lost all interest in finding things out for her client, and was suddenly full of questions about the Underworld.Â
"What about all the people from up here who are so against government, or any formed communal consciousness? I mean, they can't be happy about having to integrate with the people they fought their whole lives against."
